Essex County Court 10th of February 1693/4
- Capt. EDWARD THOMAS plaintiffe upon bringing his accon agt: Mr. MARTIN JOHNSON Defendt., declares that JOHN BLAKE, late of RAPPA. County, being indebted to him. the Plaintiff, and having departed from the said County, the Plaintiffe obtained order of attachment against his Estate which said attachment amongst severall other debts of the said BLAKEs was executed on the debt due from the Defendt., of Five hundred fifty & five pounds of tobo: & caske, which sum although often demanded he refuseth to pay, therefore the Plaintiff pray'd Judgment for the same against the Defendt. according to Bill with costs &c., To which the Defendt. by JAMES BOUGHAN his Attorney appear'd but not offereing anything material in barr, this Court have granted Judgment to the Plaintiff against the Defendt. for the sum of tobo: and caske to be paid according to Bill with cost of suit
