THIS INDENTURE made the Twelfth day of March in year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Forty seven Between TABITHA ADAMS of County of NEW KENT of one part and RICHARD ADAMS, Son of said TABITHA ADAMS, of other part, Witnesseth that in consideration of the natural love and affection which she hath and beareth unto said RICHARD ADAMS her Son, as also for the better maintenance and preferment of said RICHARD ADAMS by these presents doth give and confirm unto RICHARD ADAMS all that Plantation or Tenement of land lying in County of Essex on South side of RAPPAHANNOCK RIVER commonly known by name of BOWLERS, containing by estimation Five hundred acres more or less with all its appurtenances. To have and to hold the said Plantation and premises hereby granted unto RICHARD ADAMS and his heirs, In Witness whereof the said TABITHA ADAMS hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year above written over
