IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen I ROBERT BALL of Cople Parish in Westmoreland County in the Colony of Virginia being desirous to settle my affaires in order before I leace this world. & finding myself to draw near my expected time being sick and weak of body but of sound & perfect mind & memory praised be God for it, do make this my last Will & Testament utterly revokeing makeing void & of none effect all other Wills by me formerly made, ratifieing & confirming this & no other to he my last Will & Testament in manner & form following, First of all, having thro the meritts & mediation of every blessed Redeemer made my peace with God, I recommend my Soul into the hands of its wise Creator and comitt my body to the ground to be decently buried and as touching such worldly Estate as it hath pleased the Lord to bestow upon me. I bequeath & dispose of as followeth
Imprs, My Will & desire is that all & singular my just debts be paid & satisfied by my Exrs hereafter named
Item, I give & bequeath unto my Son, ROBERT BALL, all my Land & Dwelling House in YEOCOMOCO NECK to him & his heires & assignes for ever, but in case he dies before he comes of age, to my Son, GEORGE BALL, to him and his heires for ever
Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son. GEORGE BALL, two thousand pounds of tc,haccc. to be paid out of my- Estate when ne comes at age by my Executor.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my Son, EMANUEL BALL, one feather bed & furniture, Item. I give and bequeath unto my Son, GERRARD BALL, one two year old Heifer
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter. SARAH BALL. one feather bod & furniture. All the rest of my movable Estate, I give & bequeath unto my dear and loving Wife and my two Children. DANIEL & BENONI BALL and the Child she is bigg with if born alive to be equally divided amongst them.
Item I give and bequeath unto RALPH ELSTON my new Kersey Coat & Breeches
And Lastly. I nominate & appoint my Brother. GERRARD BALL in MARYLAND, my full sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. whom I desire to take the charge & care of my three Sons, ROBERT, GEORGE and EMANUEL & bring them up till they arrive to the age of eighteen years. In case my Brother refuses to take them, my desire is that they may be bound to some trade by an Order of Court. My will & desire is that my Plantacon be not worked with more than two or three labouring hands. In Wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seal this Twenty Ninth day of May Anno Dmi. 1723

- WILLIAM CLIFF, Plaintiff against ROBERT BALL, Defendant, in Ejectione Finne of one messuage, one dwelling house, two tobacco houses, one garden, one orchard, two hundred acres ofland, two hundred acres of woodland, one hundred acres of arable land and one hundred acres of pasture with the appurtenances scituate lyeing &being in the Parish of Copeley and County aforesd of the demise of GEORGE ESKRIDGE It is ordered by the Court that unless Mr. DANIELL McCARTY, tenant in possession of the land and premises aforesaid or those under whome hee claimes haveing lawfull notice ofthis Order by the Sheriff of this County doe appeare at the next Court to bee held for the County aforesd and make him or themselves Defendants and confess Lease Entry and Ouster and insist only on the mere mise ofthe premises then Judgment to pass for the Plaintiff and her Majtie's Writt ofhabere facias possessionem to be awarded &c

1707-1709 Westmoreland County, Virginia Deeds-Wills No. 4; [John Frederick Dorman]; Page 201-04. 4 March 1708 [1709]. Gerrard Ball of Maryland to George Eskridge of Westmoreland County. For £76 sterling. 100 acres, one half of a patent granted to John Hull 8 Oct. 1650 which 200 acres was by deed from the Proprietors of the Northern Neck of Virginia granted to Robert Ball and Gerrard Ball as escheat from Thomas Dodson 20 Jan. 1708 ... the said 100 acres being the uppermost part of the 200 acres ... bounded by the lowermost part in the possession of Robert and lands now in the possession of Jeremiah Garland, the lands of John Critcher and James Coleman.

4 March 1708 [1709]. Gerrard Ball of Maryland appoint my brother Robt. Ball my attorney to acknowledge deed of 100 acres unto George Eskridge.

1707-1709 Westmoreland County, Virginia Deeds-Wills No. 4; [John Frederick Dorman]; Page 204-07. 9 [29?] March 1709. Robert Ball of Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, to George Eskridge of same. For 3500 pounds of tobacco. 100 acres in Yeocomico Neck now in the possession of Thomas Jenkins ... westerly on a branch of a creek that issueth out of Yeocomico formerly called Ward's Creek ... southerly on a gutt commonly called the Indian Cabin cove and the land formerly in the possession of Nathl. Garland, easterly on the land late of Richard Holding, northerly on the land of Thomas Bonam now in the occupation of John King.

3-214; Thomas Dodson died seized of 200 A. in Westmoreland Co. Granted John Hull 8 oct 1650. Edward ffranklin and Ralph Spellman of said Co. presented to Escheat by Peticon to R't Hon'ble Thomas Lord Culpeper Barron of Thorsway then Gov. of Virginia; 23 Aug 1680. No Grant obtained but ffranklin and Spellman sold to Robert King of said Co. who by Will. 25 Sept 1693, gave to Robert Ball and Gerrard Ball of Westmoreland Co. Certficate by James Westcomb Cl'k of said Co. Grant to Robert and Gerrard Ball. On Potowmack R. adj. John Earle .....
