      William Wheeler's Will
      In the name of God Amen, I William Wheeler of Westmoreland County in Washington Parish being sick and weak in body but of perfect soundness of memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament
      First, I give unto my wife Elizabeth Wheeler all my land that I now live on as far as the branch between the and where Elliott Sebastian now lives and up the said branch to Balthrop’s line during her natural life and after her death to my son Thomas Wheeler and his heirs forever.
      Item I give unto my daughter Sarah Horton that parcel of land that Elliott Sebastian now lives on bounded by the aforesaid branch to Balthrop’s line to her and her heirs forever.
      Item I give unto my wife Elizabeth Wheeler Negro wench Sarah and Negro boy Tom during her natural life and after her death to her daughter Elizabeth Strother and her heirs forever.
      Item I give unto my wife Elizabeth Wheeler one still during her natural life and at her death to my daughter Sarah Horton and her heirs forever.
      Item I give unto my daughter Sarah Horton 10 pounds cash to her and her heirs forever.
      Item I gave it to my son Thomas Wheeler 10 pounds cash to him his heirs forever and all my wearing clothes and my gun.
      Item I give unto my son Richard Wheeler five shillings.
      Item I give unto my son John Wheeler five shillings.
      Item I desire all the rest of my estate to be equally divided between my wife Elizabeth Wheeler and my son Thomas Wheeler and my daughter Sarah Horton to them and their heirs forever.
      And I the said William Wheeler to make order and constitute my wife Elizabeth Wheeler executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of November 1761.

      At a Court held for Westmoreland County the 28th day of September 1762 this will was proved according to law by the oath of Robert Strother and Enoch Strother witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of Elizabeth Wheeler, widow and executrix named in the said will who made oath according to law and together with the said Robert Strother and and executor and Thomas Robins her securities entered into and acknowledged bond with conditioned as the Law directs, certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.

      THIS INDENTURE made this 28th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty two, Between WILLIAM WHEELER of KING GEORGE County and SAMUEL WHEELER of Westmoreland County of one part and WILLIAM BERRYMAN of County of Westmoreland of other part; Witnesseth that WILLIAM WHEELER and SAMUEL WHEELER in consideration of the sum of five shillings to them in hand paid by WILLIAM BERRYMAN, the Receipt whereof WILLIAM WHEELER and SAMUEL WHEELER doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto WILLIAM BERRYMAN his heirs all that parcel of land scituate in Washington Parish in County of Westmoreland which WILLIAM WHEELER purchased of JOHN WEEDON by a Deed bearing date the twenty fourth day of May one thousand seven hundred and ten, it being part of a large tract granted to JOHN BERRYMAN, WILLIAM HORTON and JOHN PALMER by a Patent bearing date the fourteenth day of October one thousand six hundred and seventy and bounded, Begining at a corner tree of WILLIAM BERRYMANs thence South two hundred and sixty six poles to the corner tree between WEBB and BRUSTON, thence West Southwest two hundred poles to the corner tree of WILLIAM WEBB and BERRYMAN, thence along BERRYMANs line to the begining; containing One hundred acres of land; Together with all houses orchards profits and appurtenances belonging; To have and to hold the One hundred acres of land unto WILLIAM BERRYMAN and assigns during the term of one whole year to the intent that WILLIAM BERRYMAN may be in the actual possession of the premises and may hereby and by force and virtue of the Statute for transferring uses into possession be enabled to take a release of the inheritance thereof to him and his heirs; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written

      THIS INDENTURE made the twenty ninth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty two Between WILLIAM WHEELER of KING GEORGE County and SAMUEL WHEELER of Westmoreland County of one part & WILLIAM BERRYMAN of County of Westmoreland of other part; Witnesseth that WILLIAM WHEELER and SAMUEL WHEELER in consideration of the sum of Three thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco & six pounds current money to them in hand paid by WILLIAM BERRYMAN, the Receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto WILLIAM BERRYMAN in his actual possession now being all the land and premises with appurtenances by Indenture to him thereof made for one whole year and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession, and to his heirs all the parcel of land scituate in Washington Parish and County of Westmoreland which WILLIAM WHEELER purchased (the purchase of the land and description of the bounds repeated as in the Lease): To have and to hold the land & premises unto WILLIAM BERRYMAN his heirs and WILLIAM WHEELER and SAMUEL WHEELER for themselves and their heirs the lands and premises hereby conveyed unto WILLIAM BERRYMAN his heirs shallwar- rant and forever defend by these presents, the BURYING PLACE or GRAVE YARD of the Family excepted; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents interchangeably set their hands and seales the day and year first above written
