1749-1840 Inhabitants of Frederick Co MD Vol 2-Shaffer
1784 Petition of Joseph Lakins, John Snowden Hook, Duckett Wells, Aron
Ankrom, Joseph Ogden, Benjamin Rice, Richard Weakly, James Simmons,
James Weakly, John Lakin, Samuel Lakin, Abraham Lakin [different than
the next man], Abraham Lakin Turner [different than the prior man],
Abraham Deaven, James S. Hook, and John Aldridge. The petitioners felt
that the road that ran through Joseph Lakins' plantation at the top of
Ketoctin Mountain, near James Hook's house to Nathan Magruder's
plantation was inconvenient. The court appointed John Snowden Hook and
Benjamin Rice to view the road, lay if off, and report to the court.
