To wife Joan Hawkins, land within the lines herein expressed with my dwelling house (refers to "Enclosure of the Nutfleld" and Nutfield Branch, Zachiah Swamp, John Marton). Also Negro Robin, Sambo, Terry, Zeno, Great Poter, Cook, Mingo, Moll, Betty, Kate, Glese(?), Teney.
To son Samuel Hawkins, tract called "Glovers Point," 250 A, also pt of tract called "Lyons Denn" 140 A., tract called "Woods Addition" 38 A,, also pt of tract called His Lordships Favour, 250 A. and for want of heirs then to sons Henry Hawkins and Josias Hawkins.
To son Samuel., Negro Jack, Senr., also my watch.
To son Henry Hawkins, part of tract which part Is 950 A. called "Hawkins Purchase" and for want of heirs to sons Samuel and Josias.
To son Henry, Negroes Shadrack, Davie, Jack, Junr., Georges Sarie and her dau, Jane.
To son Josias Hawkins, pt of tract, "Johnsons Town," which part Is 475 A.; tract called "Hawkins Enlargement," 100 A; tract I bought of Robert Perle, 44 A., being part of tract called Archers Pasture." Also land I hold at Patuxent in right of my wife, to be made over to him by deed from my wife and her son Henry as soon as Henry shall be of age. Also 200 A. at the upper end of the tract of land called "Hawkins Purchase", which I have given before to my son Henry, and Negroes: Tom, Jerry., Junr, Dick, Pompy, Moll Junr., Beck.
To grandson Henry Waring,. tract called "Jamaicka", 500 A. and for want of heirs to his brother Basil Waring reserving to my dau. Elizabeth Waring one moiety of said tract during her life,
To dau. Martha Portave [Porteus], Negro Nero with 7 Negroes already delivered her.

Capt. George Dent Sr's Will.
I, George Dent of CC, am sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory and understanding. Firstly, I want my debts and funeral charges paid and my wife's thirds taken out.
To my 3 single daughters, Slander, Joanna Greenfield, and Jane - a tract of land called Huckalbury Swamp, containing about 300 acres, so long as they live single. If one of them marries, then the other 2 to hold & possess the land during their singlehood. If a 2nd one of them marries, then the 1 remaining in a single state to hold & possess the land during the term of her living unmarried, after which, the land is to be equally divided between my 2 sons, Henry & George.
To my sons Henry & George Dent - the rest of my lands, to be equally divided between them.
To my 2 married daughters, to each of them - a young Negro of 10 or 12 years of age, Lhey having been provided for before.
To my unmarried children - the rest of my personal estate, to be equally divided between them.
Executors: my wife Eleanor and my 2 Sons, Henry & George. Signed Sep 12, 1785 - George Dent. Wit - John Marshall, Marcus Lattimer, Edward Hobart.
Probated Dec 31, 1785 by all 3 executors and by the oaths of all 3 witnesses. Eleanor Dent, widow of Capt George Dent, late of CC, decd, quitted her claim to the bequest & devise made to her in the will of her sd husband dead, & elected, in lieu thereof, her dower, or third part, of the deed's estate, both real & personal. Letters Testamentary were granted to Eleanor Dent, Henry Dent, and George Dent, the executors; their securities were Gerard B. Causin & Hoskins Hanson
