Will of James Vessels, 1751 Accomack Co, VA
In the name of God Amen the 7th day of April in the Year of Our Lord I James Vessels of Accomack Conty Living on fishers Island being very Sick of Body but of Perfect mind & Memory thanks be given unto God therefore into mind of Moartality of Body & knowing that it is appointed for to Die do Make & Ordain this my last Will & Testament that is to say ?? &
first of all I give & Recommend my Soul into the hands of God that to me and for my body I recommend it to the earth & to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting a general resurection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty God and
towtching such worldly extates where with it hath pleased ?? me in this life I give Devise & Dispose of the same in the following Form.
Item I give & bequeath unto my Son Ephraim Vessels on in Money
Give & bequeath unto my son Shadrack Vessels one in money
Give & bequeath unto my son Elijah Vessels one Shilling.
son James Vessels to get plantation he is now living containing 50 acres
wife, Elizabeth Vessels to live unmolested in her widowhood and the remainder of the estate to dispose of to daugher: Keturah Vessels, Betty Vessels, and Rebecak Vesells, dau Hanna to get one shilling.
