Bernard Johnson, dec'd, late of that portion of Calvert County now Prince George's County possessed several parcels of land; one called Dove's Nest formerly laid out for Nathaniel Truman sold to Bernard Johnson of 150 acres on the west side of the Patuxent at the head of Swanston's Creek; the other called Dove's Peirch containing 200 acres; these lands by legal descent came to Mary, Elizabeth, Catharine and Martha, the 4 surviving daughters and co-heirs of their father; Mary has now married Philip Willery; Elizabeth married Hugh Williams, planter of Prince George's County; Catharine has married Paul Rawlings, planter of Prince George's County; Martha has married Thomas Nelson, planter of Prince George's County; by indenture bearing date of 10 Aug 1702 between the above daughter and their husbands the land was divided into 4 equal parts; for the sum of 46£Philip Willery and his wife Mary sold her portion of the land to William Wilkerson; bounded by the main branch of the Piscataway, Hugh Williams spring branch to Bridge Branch; containing 87 1/2 acres

Deed of Mortgage, recorded at the request of James Russell (Merchant). Jul 26, 1744 from Bernard Johnson Rawlins of PG, planter, to James Russell of PG, Merchant, for 82 £3 shillings and 6 pence sterling, part of a tract of land called Mudds Rest, situated in Charles County, containing about 100 acres. Also all that part or parcel of land of Paul Rawlins & Catherine, his wife, whereon the sd Bernard Johnson Rawlins now dwells, situated in PG, bounded by the road that runs by Wm Read's corn field, then along a branch to the top of a hill in the greatest fork of Sturdys branch to the line of Robert Dove, & so to the extremities of the sd plantation of the sd Paul Rawlins & Catherine, his wife, westward by the land of Bigger Head & James Wilson, containing about 40 acres. Also, the following Negroes, to wit, 1 man named Jack, 1 woman named Flora, 1 man named Jenkin, & 1 girl named Jean. If, however, sd Bernard Johnson Rawlins pays sd James Russell, on Nov 10, 1745, 82 £3 shillings and 6 pence sterling, with legal interest, then this deed shall be void. Otherwise, sd Rawlins, upon reasonable request, will yield up and deliver the 2 tracts of land afd into the hands of sd Russell. Signed - Barnard Johnson Rawllings. Wit - J Wilson*, Hen Truman*. Martha Rawlings, the wife of the within mentioned Bernard Johnson Rawlings, relinquished her right of dower to the within mentioned lands. Recorded Aug 6, 1744.

Indenture made October 29, 1750; William Reed, planter, in considerationio of 6,000 pounds of tobacco paid by James Thomas, planter, has sold a tract of Paul Rawlings and Catharine Rawlings his wife whereon Barnard Johnson Rawlings formerly dwelt, containing 40 acres and binding on the road that runs by William Reed's cornfield to the line of Robert Dove and a tract called Beale [sic "Beale's Chance"], formerly belonging to Bigger Head. Signed William Reed, in the presence of John Lee, Levin Wailes and acknowledged before Henry Truman, John Hawkins, Jr., and at the same time Elizabeth Reed wife of William Reed relinquished her right of dower.
