Nephew, Richard Aloysius Thompson, $350 out of thc money due mc by Robert Turner and Joseph Turner.
Brother, Francis Middleton, the balance of my silver spoons, etc.
Sisters, Eleanor Thompson and Elizabeth Posey, and brother, Francis Middleton, the balance due me by my brother Francis on land I sold him, called "Causeen Manor."

Niece, Elizabeth Thompson, shares in the corporation, ''Potomack Company."
Niece, Anne Thompson, $350, to her and her whole blood heirs forever.

(Item.-Whereas, there has never been a division of land held by my brother, James Middleton, and myself as joint tenants under the will of my
father, and also under a deed from Walter Smith, deceased, and believing, that the said James has more land in his possession than I have under my
father's will, and under deed from said Smith and his backwardness hath prevented-partition being made and deeds of partition past between us,
etc.; therefore, I appoint trustees my brother, Francis Middleton, and my brother-in-law, Lawrence Posey, trustees for my sister, Eleanor Thompson to
whom I leave my part of said lands; also 17 acres in a tract called "Middleton's and Askin's Progress," which I bought of and paid Uncle Marmaduke Semmes, deceased, but from the nature of the patent of said tract I took James Middleton's deed for same.)
To James H. A. Middleton, Joseph Thompson and Anne Rosaly Middleton I bequeath the residue of that debt due me from Robert and Joseph Turner, and also a judgment in Prince George's County against Alexius Boone, now of Frederick County, Maryland.; also a judgement against Henry Hagan, deceased, near Port Tobacco.
Sister, Eleanor Thompson, all my shares in different banks; also a tract of land called "Hard Struggle" near Beantown, and all the residue of my estate.
Executors and Trustees: Francis Middleton and Lawrence Posey aforesaid.
Witnesses: Jos. Simpson, Jno. W. McPherson, Philip Edelen.

CODICIL (Dated August 30, 1816).
Brother, James Middleton, to him all the land I have any right or title to on the west side of road leading from Bryantown to Beantown and which
was considered in my father's lifetime to be his quarters land; also a small part of the land called "Middleton's and Askin's Progress," on the east side of the said main road around James Montgomery's land next to a spring formerly called "Old Phillo Spring," which said land, not including any part of my late dwelling plantation, to him and his heirs forever, and it is my will that a certain line between his (James Middleton's) and my plantations be moved to the said main road from Bryantown to Beantown.
Nephews, J. H. A. Middleton, Alexander Middleton and David Middleton.
Claims against them are hereby acquitted, provided they and my brother, James Middleton, shall not exhibit any claims against my estate, vesting in
my executors full power to enforce the payment of every and all considerations against them.

pt of Jordan, the dwelling plantation; Middletons and Askins Progress; but if she marries, then one third of the land to son Francis Middleton.
To my son Ignatius Middleton, 10 negroes and 14 bought of Edward Jenkins
To my son James, 10 negroes
To my dau Eleanor Thompson, 15 negroes

Sister Sarah Jenkins and her 4 daus, Eliza, Mary, Sarah and Charity, personalty
To sons James and Ignatius the dwelling plantation Jordan and Middletons and Askins Progress and all vacant land, reserving one third for use of wife during widowhood; son Ignatius to have pt where mill stands, the other children to have free grinding; son James to have his portion laid out on the land bought of brother Smith Middleton and pt called the old quarters
To son Francis, tract which I have deed of trust from Edward Jenkins; 340 acres bought of John Barton, Ignatius and Henrietta Montgomery called Pyes Hard Shift and also bought of State of MD called Mongomerys Adventure
To son Ignatius Batchelors Hope 108 acres during the life of sister Sarah Jenkins
To wife and children - Ignatius, James, Eleanor, Francis and Elizabeth the residue equally, but if wife refused to abide by this, then after her thirds be paid, the residue be divided equally among sd children.

Mar 1, 1788 from Smith Middleton of CC, to James Middleton of CC, planter, for 300 £150 acres of a tract of land called Jourdan, lying in CC, "to be part of sd Jourdan tract", which was deeded by James Middleton and Sarah, his wife (both decd) to sd Smith Middleton, their son, to be laid off adjoining and nearest to the other part of sd Jourdan, which sd James Middleton bought of Ignatius Middleton (decd) and now holds. Oct 10, 1793 from Walter Smith of CC (Carpenter), to Ignatius Middleton and James Middleton, both of CC (planters), for 294 £13 shillings and 4 pence, all of Walter Smith's right to all the surplus lands in a tract of land called Jourdan, in CC, that my grandfather, John Smith decd, made over to me, sd Walter Smith, by deed of gift (except 97 acres where James Montgomery now lives, binding with certain courses as heretofore laid down by Joseph Owen, Surveyor for sd Mongomery; also 122.33 acres which was formerly laid down for Smith Middleton). Indenture made February 20, 1800; Francis Tolson of Prince George's County, Maryland in consideration of 207 pounds current money paid by James Middleton has sold the quantity of 122-1/3 acres of a tract called "Jordan" beginning of James Montgomery's part of "Jordan". Signed Francis Tolson in the presence of and acknowledged by Overton Carr, Thomas H. Hanson (JP's of Prince George's County, Maryland)
February 20, 1800; Elizabeth Tolson wife of Francis Tolson, relinquished her right of dower.
