      25 Aug. 1741. Butler Spotswood, Elliot Benger and Robert Rose, Clerk, executors of the last will and testament of Alexander Spotswood, late of Orange County, Esquire, to William Christopher.
      Alexander Spotswood by his last will and testament 19 April 1740 recorded in the Court of the County of Orange did give during the minority of either of his sons John Spotswood and Robert Spotswood full power unto Butler Spotswood, Elliott Benger and Robert Rose as executors to leave any of his lands (except as therein excepted) for term of years or for lives as he leased lands in he Spotsylvania Tract lying in Orange County. Lease of 150 acres in St. Mark's Parish on the north side
      of the River Rapadane, part of 40,000 acres granted by pattent to Alexr. Spotswood and called the Spotsylvania Tract For lives of William Christopher and Moreton Christopher, sons. Yearly rent 800 pounds of tobacco in one hogshead proper for exportation at some convenient landing on Rappahannock River due 5 Dec. 1744.
      William Christopher doth agree to plant 300 fruit trees, whereof one third at least to be apple trees and the same inclose with a good fence, and shall not work more than six labouring hands to be full sharers in a crop.
