      He died in Culpeper about 1784 and left property sufficient to pay his debts. His only executor is his relation Daniel Field, Jr., now of Culpeper County. About eighteen months ago he sold five Negroes to John Strode, Esqr., of Culpeper for the purpose of paying this debt together with a debt due from himself. There were judgments for the debts obtained in the District Court of Fredericksburg and Mr. Strode being high Sheriff of Culpeper County undertook the payment of them and to indemnify Mr. Field
