      THIS INDENTURE made the eighth day of August in the twentieth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord GEORGE the Second and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty six Between ANDREW DALTON of the Parish of Hamilton in County of Prince William Planter and CATHERINE his Wife of one part and WILLIAM RAUSSAU of the same place Planter of other part. Whereas MICHAEL DERMONT late of the Parish and County aforesaid deceased was in his life time seized in Fee simple of one tract of land which was granted to him by the PROPRIETORS of the NORTHERN NECK being in the Parish & County aforesaid on the East side of TOWN RUN from the WHITE OAK CABBIN BRANCH to the LONG BRANCH going up to TOBIAS WOODs containing Two hundred and Fifty acres of land so being seized by his Last Will and Testament in writing hearing date the third day of February in the year one thousand seven hundred and thirty devised the said Tract of land to his Daughter CATHARINE (party to these presents) in Fee Tail as by the said Will more fully is contained and Whereas said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife have entered into the premises and being minded to sell the same and to bar the intail have suied out a Writ pursuant to an Act of Assembly in that case made in the nature of an Ad Nod damnum to the SHERIFF of said County of Prince William directed whereby it was commanded that by the oath of good and lawful men of his Bailiwic he should deligently enquire if it may be to the damage or prejudice of his Majesty or others if the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife should sell the said tract of land To which Writ the SHERIFF of the said County answered that twelve good and lawful men of his County being sworn and charged upon their oath did say that it will not be to the damage of his Majesty if the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife should sell the said tract of land in the said Writ mentioned but that it will be to the damage of the issue of the said CATHARINE and of those claiming in remainder and reversion and further the said jurors upon their Oath did say that the said land and appurtenances were then of the value of (blank) pounds good and lawful money of great Britain and is a separate parcel and not parcel of or contiguous to other intailed lands in the possession and Seizin of the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife as by the said Writ and return remaining of record in the SECRETARY's OFFICE of this Colony
      Now This Indenture Witnesseth that said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife for the sum of Seven pounds Current money of Virginia hath sold unto the said WILLIAM ROUSSAU his heirs and assigns forever all that parcel of land being part of the above mentioned tract bounded beginning at a red Oak corner of the land conveyed by said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife to the said WILLIAM ROUSSAU (which is also part of the above menconed part) and extending thence along the line of the land of JAMES PETERS to a white Oak in a Valley thence down the Valley to the Run containing Twenty five acres Together with all the houses and appurtenances whatsoever belonging To Have and To Hold unto him the said WILLIAM ROUSSAU his heirs and assigns In Witness whereof the parties have set their hands and Seals

      At a Court held for the County of Prince William the 25th day of August 1746 ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife (she being first privately examined and thereto consenting) acknowledged this Deed with the Livery of Seizin & Receipt endorsed to WILLIAM ROUSSAU to be their acts and deeds which are admitted to record

      THIS INDENTURE made the ninth day of August in the twentieth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the second and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty six between ANDREW DALTON of the Parish of Hamilton in the County of Prince William Planter and CATHARINE his Wife of one part. and JAMES LEWIS of the same place of other part Whereas MICHAEL DERMONT late of the Parish & County aforesaid deceased was in his life time seized in Fee Simple of a tract of land which was granted to him by the PROPRIETORS of the NORTHERN NECK being in the Parish and County aforesaid on the East side of TOWN RUN from the WHITE OAK CAB- BIN BRANCH to the LONG BRANCH going up to TOBIAS WOODs containing Two hundred and fifty acres and so being thereof seized by his Last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the third day of February in the year one thousand seven hundred and thirty devised the said land to his Daughter CATHARINE (Party to these presents) in Fee Tail as by said Will more fully is contained and Whereas the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife have entered into the premises and being minded to sell the same have sued out a writ provided in the nature of an ad quod damnum to the Sheriff of the said County of Prince William whereby it is commanded by the oath of good and lawful] men of his Bailiwic he should diligently enquire if it may be to damage of his Majesty or others if the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife should sell the said land To which the Sheriff answered that twelve good and lawfull men of his County being Sworn did say that it will not be to the damage of our Lord the king but that it will be to the Issue of the said CATHARINE and further the Jurors did say that the said land were then of the value of (blank) pounds good and lawful money of great Britain and said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife by Indenture of bargain and sale sold One hundred and nineteen acres of the said tract of land to WILLIAM ROUSSAU and the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife by Indenture bearing date the eighth day of August. for the consideration of the sum of seven pounds have sold unto the said WILLIAM ROUSSAU & his heirs twenty five acres other part of the said tract of land
      NOW This Indenture Witnesseth that the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife for the sum of Thirty three pounds Current money of Virginia hath sold unto the said JAMES LEWIS his heirs & assigns all the remainder of the above mentioned tract of land containing One hundred & six acres and the reversions and interest of them the said ANDREW DALTON and CATHARINE his Wife. In Witness whereof the parties have set their hands and Seals
