1717-1722 Essex County, Virginia Wills, Inventories & Settlements, No. 3; [John Frederick Dorman]; Page Will of Alice Ellett in the County of Essex being very sick and weak in body, dated 28 Jan, 1720/21.
Unto my beloved grandson Francis Pane [Payne] my plantation and all my land belonging unto me. If the said Francis Pane dies without heirs to my granddaughter Alice Pane.
My aforesaid granddaughter Alice Pane during an unmarryed life to continue to cituate ore build and live upon any part of the aforesaid land.
My grandson Francis and my granddaughter Alice Pean. executor and executrix.

IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I JOHN ELLETT of South Farnham Pish. in ye County of Essex being very sick & weak butt of perfect sence &, memory doe make this my last Will & Testament in maner & form following. this First day of July 1698. First I give & bequeath my Soul unto Almighty God hoping for pardon of all my sins through the only meritts of my blessed Lord & Savour Jesus Christ all ye last Day; my body I give unto my Mother, ye Earth, to be desentllye & Christianly interred by my Exr. or Exec. hereafter named shall think fitt & my worlly estatt wch: God hath lent me after my just debts & funerall charges are sattisfyed I give in maner following:
21y , I give unto my loving Wife, EALES ELLETT, my Plantacon & all my land that I am now possessed wth: all or any ways belongs to me during my sd: Wifes life wthoutt ye lett or molestation of any pr:son whatsoever & after my sd Wifes departure oust of this life then ye sd land to be my Daugher, JOANE ELLETTs, during her life & after her decease ye sd land to be my two Daughters, EALES ELLETT & FRA: ELLETT, to be equally devided both for goodness & qntity, to them & their heirs for ever
3dly I give unto my Daughter, ELIZABETH PAINE, one Cow yeareling with all her increase for ever to her & her heres for ever & for all ye rest of my worly estate I give unto my aforesd. Loving Wife for to be all her own disposal! as she shall think fitte & I doe appoynt & ordaine my Loving Wife my whole & sole Executorix of this my last Will & Testament & this to cuts of all former Wills Deeds & Giftes whatsoever As Witnesseth my hand & seale ye day & year above written

The Condition of this obligacon is that if ye above bound ALICE ELLETT' who in Court held for Essex County ye daye & year abovesd, obtained a Probate of ye last Will of JNO: ELLITT deced shall at all times hereafter p:form & satisfie all such Legats. as therein expressed & wt:soever ye Law enjoyns in such cases Then ye above obligacon to be void othewise to stand in full force
