On Jun 9, 1800, there was filed with the high court of chancery a
bill of complaint by which Gideon Dent instituted action against Anne
and Kezia Burch. The bill set forth that Oliver Burch, deceased, by his will of Dec 29, 1793, devised to Anne Burch and Kezia Burch, of
Charles Co., "Bowling's Plain Resurveyed", lying in Charles Co.,
during their natural lives, then to his son Henry Burch. On Apr 17,
1799, Henry Burch sold the land to Gideon Dent and since then settled in Kentucky. Anne Burch and Kezia Burch continued to live upon the land, but were tearing down the out-houses and destroying trees.
