JENKINS, THOMAS, (Nuncupative Will),
The deposition of Elethias Perkins aged 49 years or thereabouts That your depont being in the house where Thomas Jenkins did make his will in writing and did heare him give his whole estate to his son- in-law William Price after the decease of his mother or day of marriage onely two Cows and a Calfe to William Price his sisters Children and further depont Saith not

The deposition of Thomas Roberts aged 28 or thereabta Sworn and examined Saith that depont. did write and witness a will of Tho. Jenkins wherein he did give all his estate to his son in Law Wm. Price after the death of his wife onely excepted two Cows or heifers which were given to Wm. Price his sisters Children and further yor. depont. Saith not

TO ALL TO WHOM etc NOW KNOW YEE etc that I the sd Sr. WM. BERKELEY Knt. Governer etc doe wth the consent of the Coun cell of State accordingly give and grant unto Mr. WILL. LANE one hundred sixty and foure acres of land lying in the Freshes of Rappa. County on the North side of the River next and adjoyning to the plantacon he now lives on and begining at the Mouth of a Creeke near Mr. CHARLES SNEADs Clifts and runing up the River West and by No: 70 perches to a small gutt thence W :No: West 216 perches to a pocikory thence No W: by W: 236 perches over Pepetick Creeke to a marked red oake neare the river side thence into the woods North East 68 perches crossing over Pepetick Creeke to a marked red Oake that makes a Corner Tree to the lands of Mr. Wm. Lane and Mr. JNO. PAYNE thence So: Easterly East 500 perches to the place it begann the said land being due unto the sd Lane by and for the transptacon of foure persons into this Colony whose names are on the records menconed underneath this Pattent. To Have & to Hold etc. Provided etc. Dated the 28th 8br 1666

Mercht. for the valluable consideracon of Fifteene thousand pounds of Tobo: and Caske the paymt: whereof I doe acknowledg in every parte and parcell thereof to have reced of Majr. JNO WEIR doe hereby sell & make over from me my heires and assignes all my right title and interrest that I or they have or may hereafter have to this the menconed Pattent of land unto the abovesd Majr. Jno. Weir of Rappa. County Gent. his heires and assignes for Ever hereby warranting the sd Sale of land In WITTNESS whereof I have
hereunto sett my hand and seale this 23d day of January 1667.

TO ALL TO WHOM these presents shall come I SR, WM, BERKELEY Knt. Governorand Capt. Gennil. of Virga: doe vth the consent of the Councell of State accordingly give and grant unto WM. LANE Mercht, 940 acres of land lying on the North side of Rappa. River Betweene Pepetick Creeke and a Creeke at the foote of Certain White Clifts and Begineth at the woods No: East a mile No: West by West 500 perches towards Pepeticke Creeke South West unto the River and finally So: East by East (blank) the River unto the place where it begann the sd Land formerly granted to JOHN PAYNE Pattent bearing date the 15th 9br 1655 and by the sd Payne sold and assigned to the sd Lane To have and to Hold etc. Provided etc dated the 18th of March 1662.

THIS INSTRUMT. WITTNESSETH that whereas Wm. Lane hath sold John Weire a quantity of land formerly purchased by the sd Wm. Lane in Rappa. County as will more fully appeare by wrighting bearing date the 23d of January 1667 Now if the sd Wm. Lane shall at any time within Foure yeares after the date hereof these presents make good paymt: of fifteene thousand pounds of good merchantable Tob: & caske at some convenient place by the River side in Sittingbourne Parrish in Rappa. County unto the sd John Weir his Heires or assignes that then the sd John Weir doth oblidge himselfe to Reassigne the abovesd land with appertunances unto the sd Wm. Lane his heires and assignes he the said Lane making good and firme whatever Leases formerly passed by him to Tennants or shall hereafter be passed by Jno. Weir to them or other Tennants. WITTNESS my hand and seale this 24th of January 1667.

KNOW ALL MEN by these prsents that I WILLIAM PRICE of PISCATAWAY in the County of Rappae: Plantr., & ANN my Wife, Sole Daughter and heire of JOHN PENHORN, late of JAMES CITTY in JAMES CITTY COUNTY deced, have sould & by this prsent Charter confirmed to THOMAS RABLEY of JAMES CITTY Three hundred acres of land with the appurtenances lying and being in JAMES CITTY COUNTY on the North side of JAMES RIVER & on the South West side of PARCHMORES CREEK bounded (Vizt) Beginning at the head of the said Creek and bounding on Mr. SANDERSONs North West on PARCHMORS CREEK North East on Majr, HOLTs land called by the name of GOOSE HILL, South East on the Maine River, South West as by a Pattent bearing date the twelve of July 1656 whereby the sd land is granted & give to JOHN PINHORN aforesd may more at large appeare which sd three hundred acres of land with the appurtenances lately were the aforesd JOHN PINHORNs, Father of me the aforesd. ANN, now Wife of WILL PRICE, which by & after the death of JOHN PINHORN aforesd, to me the aforesd ANN as sole Daughter and heire of the sd JOHN PINHORN by Right of Inheritance descended; To have and tohold the aforesd Three hundred acres of land with the appurtenances to the aforesd, THOMAS RABLEY his heires & assignes forever of the Capital Lords of the Fee by the Services due therefore & of Right accustomed to the proper use of sd THOMAS RABLEY his heires forever And I the aforesd. Know yee that I WILLIAM PRISE as well for ye natural' effection and fatherly love which I bear unto my well beloved Daughter in Law, MARTHA DAVIS, as also for divers causes have hereby given unto MARTHA DAVIS one Mare about six or seven years old and one Cow which are to be delivered when she attains ye age of Twenty and one years or at the time of Marriage or which of them shall happen first and furthermore I sd WILLIAM PRISE do freely give unto sd MARTHA DAVIS one Chest, one iron pott, pott hooks and a Diaper table cloth and six diaper napkins, one large hammock and a pair of Sheets with two pewter dishes and six pewter plates. two brass candlesticks and a pewter flagon and one pewter bacon and a small silver spoon to her the sd MARTHA DAVIS forever to enjoy without any matter of claim of sd WILLIAM PRISE or any other person in my name without any thing of value to be payed unto me sd WILLIAM PRISE my heirs and I the sd WILLIAM PRISE all and singular the aforesd Goods and Chattels and promise to the sd MARTHA DAVIS her heirs to the use aforesd doe warrant and forever defend by these presents as Witness my hand and seale this 3rd day of June 1690
