      THIS INDENTURE made the second of January 1682 and in the five and thirtieth
      yeare of the Raigne of oer: Soveraigne Lord King Charles the second &c. Between JAMES ORCHARD of the County of Rappa: Planter, and MARY his Wife of the one part and JAMES JACKSON of the said County alsoe Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the sd JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife for Two thousand and Eight hundred pounds of Tob: in Cask to them paid have sold unto the said JAMES JACKSON his heires all that pcell of land contaying and laid out for One hundred and fifty acres being in the Parish of Sittingbourn and County aforesaid on the North side of the Rappa: River there begining at a Gum at the Copp of a great hill (of wch the Survay of the said ORCHARD makes mention) and runing S. E. to a red Oake, thence W. to a Maple in a great Swamp, thence N. W. cutting the maine Swamp divers times to a Stake by a pockicckory, thence Ea. No. to the first mentioned Gum togeather with all proffitts to the said land belonging with all the right of them the said JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife have as well as all the right of them by force and venue of the Last Will & Testamt. of WALTER WEIRE deceased formerly the Husband of the said MARY, who was formerly owner to the sd land or by venue of an order of Court whereby the said JAMES ORCHARD was impowered to be invested with all the right and interest of GEORG JONES to the same land or by any other means whatsoever To have and to hold the said One hundred and fifty acres of land with all the rights unto the said JAMES JACKSON his heirs Subject nevertheless to the quitrents and services due to his Majties and said JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife hereby will forever warrant and will within the time limitted by Law in that case acknowledge this prsent Deed before his Majties Justices of the peace for this County In Witness whereof the parties have sett their hands and seales

      THIS INDENTURE made the 3d day of September 1687 Between JAMES ORCHARD of the County of Rappa., Plantr., and MARY his Wife of the one part and JAMES HARRISON of the sd County, Plantr„ of the other part Witnesseth that the sd JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife for the sum of Two thousand pounds of Tobb: and caske have sold unto the sd JAMES HARRISON his heires a small parcell of land containing Fifty acers being on the North side of Rappa: River about a mile below CHARLES his cheif, Beginning at a small Pine upon the bank of the River below a small Gutt issuing out of the River and thence East to the line of WM. GRIFFIN and so long his line East, thence W. towards the River, thence up the River side N. West to the place it first began, this sd parcell of land being a full half part thereof, Together with all profitts and appertinances to said granted land belonging as also the rights of them the sd JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife or either of them have to the premisses by force and virtue of the last Will and Testamt: of WALTR: WEIRE deced, formerly Husband to the sd MARY, who was then owner of the sd Land or by virtue of an Order of Court whereby the said JAMES ORCHARD was invested with all the right and Interest of GEORGE JONES to the sd land To have and to hold the sd Fifty acers of land and all the premisses unto the said JAMES HARISON and his heires forever and the said JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife the sd land and every part will forever warrant and defend from the claime of any persons whatsoever and will acknowledge this Deed in the County Court of Rappa: In Witness whereof the parties have sett their hands and qealac the day and yeare above

Between JAMES ORCHARD of County of Rappa: of the one partie and FRANCIS TAYLER of the other partie Witnesseth that sd ORCHARD for a valuable consideration of One thousand pounds toba: and Caske pd. by the sd TAYLER to the sd ORCHARD as by a Bill bearing date with these presents Wrightings and in the hands of the said TAYLER and THO: SNEAD will appeare doth give grant bargain and sell unto sd TAYLER and THO: SNEAD heirs forever a parcell of land containing Eighty acres being a parcell of land reserved by JOHN MASON out of a Tract of land of 441 1/2 acres being the half part of a PATENT of 883 acres of land granted to CHARLES SNEAD deced, bearing date the 26th Apr: 1659 and by the said SNEAD to PHILLIP SHERWOOD as by a Deed bearing date the 2nd Jany. 1659 doth appeare and by the sd SHERWOOD sold to JOHN MASON as by a Deed bearing date the 31st day of January 1660 doth appeare and sold by the said MARTIN to ROGER CLOTHWORTHY and JOHN BRADWAY only this Eighty acres excepted as by Deed doth appeare Now Know yee that I JAMES ORCHARD doth for myself my heirs &c. for the consideration aforesd. doth bargain sell and estrange the land aforesd. being Eighty acres unto FRANCIS TAYLER and THOMAS SNEAD their heirs forever, Further I the sd ORCHARD do warrant the same of and from all persons that shall at any time lay any dame to the sd Eighty acres and will at all times defend the same from all claimes whatsoever As Witness my hand and Seale the 26th day of February 1688/9

JAMES ORCHARD and MARY ORCHARD do hereby acknowledge ourselves thereby to be fully satisfied therewith and by these presents have granted sold and confirmed fully clearly and absolutely unto JOHN BURKETT of the County aforesd his heirs a certain parsell or tract of land conteyning One hundred Eighty five acres lying in the sd County on the North side of the River and on the South East side of the CLEFT CREEK being part of a Patent of Three hundred acres granted to Capt. JOHN WARE (sic WEIRE} bearing date the last day of March 1655, Beginning at a Maple standing by the Cleare Branch of CLIFT CREEK, Corner tree to a parcel of land sold by me the said ORCHARD to JAMES JACKSON and extending thence E. N. to a Stake by Mr. HARISONs Cornfield Fence, thence S. by E. to a Stake by a Spanish Oake, thence W. by S: to the Wester Course of the sd CLIFTS CREEK, thence up the sd Creeke S. to the first mentioned Maple. We the said JAMES ORCHARD and MARY ORCHARD do hereby grant sell convey and make over from us our heirs unto JOHN BURKETT his heirs To have and to hold the same with all its rights and Priviledges of all woods waters and whatsoever else peaceably and quietly without any let hindrance suit denyal or disturbance of us the sd JAMES ORCHARD and MARY ORCHARD our heirs or any other person whatsoever claiming or pretending any claim lawful' to any part of the demised premises also wee the sd JAMES ORCHARD and MARY ORCHARD do oblige ourselves our heirs to make what further assurance he the said JOHN BUCKETT or Councell learned in the Law shall require in that case and do further engage ourselves to acknowledge this our Deed of Sale before the Court of Rappa. there to be enrolled when thereunto lawfully called by the said JOHN BURKETT or his heirs, he or they yeilding and paying all dues or impositions which are or shall he charged and for further confermation hereof we the sd JAMES and MARY have hereunto set our hands and Seals this 6th of March 1688

Ano Dom: 1689 Between JAMES ORCHARD of Parish of Sittenbourne in County of Rappa., Plantr., and MARY his Wife of one part and DAVID STERNE of aforesaid Parish and County, Plantr., of other part Witnesseth that JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife for divers good causes but more especially for the sum of Eight thousand pounds of Tobb: and caske to them in hand truely paid have granted unto DAVID STERNE his heirs all that tract or devident of land conteyning just Survey made thereof by Mr. WM. MOSELEY, Surveyor, (blot) hundred acres scituate and being in Parish and County aforesd, neere and adjoining to the sd River side begining at a Pine where formerly stood a white Oake corner tree to Capt. JOHN WEIRE and extending thence alonge the sd WEIREs line N. Know yee that we the sd JAMES ORCHARD and MARY his Wife for sum of Nine thousand Eight hundred pounds of tobb: and caske in hand paid have granted certain tract of land contayning One hundred fifteen acres being in the County of Rappa and on the N. W. side of a Creek comonly called CHEST CREEKE One hundred fifteen acres unto sd GEO: LUKE his heirs begining at the head of the sd Creek and extending up the same according to its severall courses to corner tree standing at the Marsh of Mr. JAMES HARRISON Spring Branch, from thence extending W. to line of marked trees to a small red Oake corner tree standing by the River, from thence South by the mouth of the sd Creek where it first began the said land being part of a Patent of Three hundred acres granted to Capt. JOHN WEIRE bearing date the last of March 16(blot) and by him sold unto WALTER WEIRE by Deed bearing date the 26th day of June 16(blot) and by him devised to his Relict, MARY WEIRE, as by his last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the 3d day 7ber 1673 sufficiently provided in due forme of Law and also one other Plantacon and tract of land conteyning fifty acres being in the County aforesd begining at an Oake corner tree standing at the head of Mr. JAMES HARRISONs Spring Branch being the same corner tree above menconed extending W: S. to above menconed
      small red Oake by Rappa. River from thence extending up the said River North West to the line that devides this land and the land of Mr. JAMES HARRISON finally down the sd line S. E. to the first begining Oake the same being part of a tract of land conteyning 250 acres taken up by the above menconed Capt. JOHN WEIRE and by him sold to above menconed WALTR. WEIRE and by the sd WALTR. WEIRE sold to Mr. GEO: JONES as by Deed bearing date the 12th of May 1677 and by sd GEO: JONES sold to the above menconed JAMES ORCHARD by Deed bearing date the 12 of September 1682, as by the severall above recited Deeds appeare To have and to hold the sd Tenement and Plantation and tracts of land with all houses buildings gardens marshes woods and hereditaments to same belonging unto GEO LUKE his heirs and that they the said JAMES and MARY shall during their naturall lives and at the request and proper cost of him the sd GEO: LUKE make such further assurances in the land as he or his Councell learned in the Law advise In Witness whereof the sd JAMES and MARY have sett their hands and seales this fifth day of March ano dom 1689/90
