      In the Name of God Amer. I KALEM PRICE of Culpeper County in Bromfield Parish being very sick and weak in body but in perfect memory do make this my last Will and Testamerit ..
      first I give and bequeath my Soul to almighty God that gave it me and my body to the ground to be decently buried ., and my worldly goods I leave and dispose of in manner and form following
      Imprimis
      Item Secondly I give and bequeath to my loving Wife MARY PRICE my Plantation whereon I now live dureing her natural life and all the land belonging to the same from my lower corner line tree on the river up to the mouth of a Branch above the Plantation and up to the Branch to the head and that course to the back line and as my wife is now with child if she should be delivered of a Son and it should live my will and desire is that after my wiles death that Son shall have the aforesaid land & plantation but if my wife should be delivered of a Daughter my desire is that my Son JAMES PRICE shall have the said land & Plantation after his Mother's death.
      Item Thirdly I give and bequeath to my son HUMPHREY PRICE all my land lieing between a Branch above my Plantation that runs into the River and another Branch that runs into the River below the Plantation whereon JOHN BARNHYSLE now lives from the head of the said branches the same course to the back line
      Item Fourthly I give and bequeath to my son THOMAS PRICE the remainder of my track of land I now live on from the Branch below the Plantation whereon John Barnhysle now lives up to my uper corner on the River with the said Plantation whereon Barnhysle now lives.
      Item Fifthly I leave three hundred and twelve acres lying on the Waters of BESSABELL RUN to be divided equally as followeth if my wife should be delivered of a Daughter that track of land to be equally divided among my other two daughters and the one so born but if it hapen my wife should a son so that my son James Price should not inherit the Plantation whereon I live my desire is that my son James should have an Equal part of the aforesaid land with his two sisters ANN PRICE and MARY PRICE to be divided among them three and he to have first choice in the lands
      Item Sixthly I leave my negro man Peter to be sold and the money for which he shall sell to be equally divided among my sons.
      Item Seventhly I leave my stocks of Horses, Cattle and Hogs & sheep for the support of my wife and childred and to be equally divided among my children as they come of age
      Eighthly I leave my gun to my son Humphrey my household furniture and good I leave for the support of my wife and children and to be divided among my children after their Mothers death. Lastly I apoint SAMUEL SHORT and RICHARD THOMAS Executors of this my last Will and Testament to act and do for my Wife and children in the best way they can and receive all debts due to me and divide equally among my children acording to this my Will. I likewise leave a quantity of tar to be sold for money and the money divided among my children. In Witness whereof .. this twenty first of April 1758.

      At Court held for County of Culpeper on Thursday the 16th of November 1758
      This last Will and Testament of Kalem Price decd was exhibited to the Court by James Graves & was proved by the oaths of James Graves & John Wright two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. Richard Thomas one of the Executors therein named refused to take the burthen of the Execution thereof. At the same time Mary Price widow of the said decedent came into Court and renounced all benefit of the said Will chusing to accept of the Provision made her by Law.
      And at a Court held for said County on Thursday the 19th of March 1761
      On the motion of ALEXANDER BURK ( who has lately intermarried with the said Mary Price Widow & relict of the said Decedent) Certificate for obtaining Letters of Administration with the Will annexed is granted him he taking the oath and entered into Bond with security according to Law.

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I DANIEL DULANY of Culpeper County do sell to ALEXANDER BURK of County aforesaid for Nine pounds current money two cows & calves that is to say 1 Red Aide Cow & Calf the other a Brown cow & calf this 20th October 1772.

      THIS INDENTURE made the Seventeenth day of April 1775 Between THOMAS PRICE of the County of Culpeper of one part and ALEXANDER BURK of the same County Witnesseth that said Thomas Price for the sum of Twenty pounds current money of Virginia hath granted unto said Alexander Burk his heirs Twenty five acres of land in County of Culpeper & Brumfield Parish and adjoining on Hughs's River being the land left to said Thomas Price by his Father in his last Will and Testament and the said Twenty five acres of land is bounded Beginning at the Mouth of a small branch the North side of Hughs's River and runing up the said Branch to a line of KELEM PRICE deceased with that line South to two white oaks that is Blowed Down on the bank of the said River above a Small Island and a Deep hole of Water in the River thence down the several courses of the said river to the first beginning place .. . .       THIS INDENTURE made the ( ) day of December 1777 Between ALEXANDER BURK of County of Culpeper of one part and MICHAEL BURK of County aforesaid Witnesseth that said Alexander Burk for yearly rents of four pounds as also for divers good causes hath granted to farm let unto Michael Burk land upon the Gourdvine River and bounded Begining at the River and tuning the said Alexanders line to Turkey Hill Branch down the said Branch to the river and long the river to the begining includeing about one hundred acres of land to hold unto said Michael Burk for fifteen years paying yearly by the First day of January the sum of four pounds and said Michael shall also plant an orchard of apple trees not exceeding fifty trees . .       TO ALL TO WHOM it may concern, Know ye that I ALEXANDER BURK in considersation of the sum of Sixteen pounds nine shillings and one penny half penny in hand paid by WILLIAM ROBERTS, by these presents doth bargain sell & make over unto WILLIAM ROBERTS his heirs &c. the following stock and household goods, to wit, One small bay Mare about thirteen hand and one Inch high with a small star in her forehead: 1 red Cow & Calf with a motly face marked with a crop in the left ear; one iron pott, two blankets, two pewter basons, two pewter dishes and six pewter plates, as well as the rest of my household goods; To hold to said WILLIAM ROBERTS his heirs forever; In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand & seal this 15th day of August 1785

      Alexander Burk , Culpeper. £11.5.2 by bond. He removed to Kentucky several years ago, totally insolvent. He was always a very poor man and never in his life possessed either land or slaves and very little other property. He has not been able to pay the amount of this debt at any time for twenty years past
