In the name of God Amen. I GEORGE THOMPSON being very week of body but of perfect sence & memory .. do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First I give my Soul to Allmighty God who gave it and as to my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to Endow me with I give and dispose in manner & form following after my Just debts are paid.
Item I give & bequeath to my Eldest daughter ELIZABETH WALKER just what the Law allows to cut her of from any other part or parcel of my estate which it is my Will & Desire she may never Injoy but I being Ignorant in the Law dont know what sum it is.
Item I give and bequeath to my loving Wife CATHERINE THOMPSON all the remainder part of my estate. , Land, Negro and all to Act & do with at her Discretion during the Term of her natural life and at her death I give & bequeath it all to be sold to the highest bidders and the money to be equally divided among my five youngest children, ANN HENDERSON, WINNEFRET THOMPSON, my sons GEORGE THOMPSON, JOHN THOMPSON & DAVID THOMPSON to them and their heirs forever, and in case that any of my four youngest children to witt Winnefret Thompson, George Thompson, John Thompson and David Thompson deceases before the time of their mar ige or the day of division that then his her or their part so deceasing shall and I give to be equally divided between my said Daughter Ann Henderson and my said youngest children that is living at the time of division.
Item I hereby impower my loving Wife Catherine Thompson to sell and dispose of my land and to keep and put the money to her own use and in case the land is unsold at her death I hereby I mpower my five youngest children Anne Henderson, Winnefret Thompson, George Thompson, John Thompson and David Thompson or any of them that is alive at my wifes death to sell and make good right to my said land to the buyer and to take the money and divide it among themselves. I hereby appoint and ordain my loving Wife Catherine Thompson my only Executrix of this my last Will and Testament made this 11th day of July 1755. Lord Receive my Soul.

At a Court held for County of Culpeper on Thursday the 16th day of August 1764
The last will and Testament of George Thompson decd was exhibited to the Court by Catherine Thompson the Executrix therein named and was proved in the following manner, Ann Powell a witness thereto being sworn declared she saw John Powell and Seth Thurston the other witnesses since decd subscribe their names as witnesses to the said Will and that she heard George Thompson the decedent pronounce the writing now produced to be his last will and Testament, whereupon the same is ordered to be recorded and on her motion Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form she having sworn to the same & given Bond & security as the Law directs & it is ordered that William Thompson Son & Heir of the said decedent be summoned to appear at the next Court to contest the validity of the said Will if to him it seems expedient.

In Obedience to an Order of Culpeper Court we the Subscribers being first sworn have valued & appraised all the Estate of GEORGE THOMPSON decd that was brought before our view in current money as followeth .. items listed and valued to total £139..5..6 ( includes one negro woman and one negro child appraised to £85..0..0) made by appraisers JOHN BUFORD, WILLIAM TWYMAN, EPHRAIM RUCKER.
April 16th 1767. Returned into Court and Ordered to be Recorded.
