KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I JOHN CUMMINS, LAURENS County and State of SOUTH CAROLINA by these presents do make and appoint my Brother, JAMES CUMMINS of Culpeper County and State of Virginia my true and lawfulAttorney for me and in my name to bargain sell deliver and make over a certain tract of land lying in Culpeper County containing Two hundred acres less or more formerly the property of ALEXANDER CUMMINS deceased of said County, devolving to me by heirship and to receive all such sums of money and for me sufficient discharges for the same to make and do all lawfull acts and things whatsoever concerning the premises fully in every respect as I myself might or could do if I were personally present hereby ratifying allowing and confirming all my said Attorney shall do or cause to be done in my name lawfully in and about the premises by virtue of these presents; In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of July one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven
