WV News 12/22/1900 Mrs. C. N. Simms , the esteemed wife of Col. C. N. Simms of Ronceverte died on Wednesday night at Charleston. She had been suffering for some time with the dread disease cancer of the stomach
Obit. Greenbrier Valley Ronceverte WV Jan 5, 1929 - Colonel Simms was a pioneer resident of Ronceverte, establishing the first retail hardware business in the early days of town. During the nineties he became interested in the national guard of the state, was the organizer and captain of old Company H and later became colonel of the second West Virginia Regiment of the national guard.
