Brown, Thomas, of St. Stephen's Parish
W. W. 22 April 1736---W. P. 10 June 1738
Son Thomas Brown-tract of land which I now live on to him and his heirs,and if son Thomas should die without heirs I give the and to my son Footman Brown and his heirs.
Rest of estate to be equally divided between my wife and children.
Wife and William Saylor, executors.
Wife to be possessed with my land until my children come of age.
Witnessg John Lewis and Parish Garner.
Proved by oaths of Parish Garner, a witness, and William Taylor and Ellinor Brown, executors.

THIS INDENTURE made the twenty fourth day of March in the twenty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defendr. of the faith, &c., and in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and fifty; Between GEORGE LEAZURE BROWN & BETTY his Wife, of St. Stephen's Parish in County of NORTHUMBERLAND of one part & ROBERT MIDDLETON & JOHN MIDDLETON, Son to the sd. ROBERT, of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmorland of other part; Witnesseth that GEORGE LEAZURE BROWN and BETTY his Wife for sum of Five shills. of lawfull cunt. money of Virginia to them in hand paid by ROBT. & JOHN MIDDLETON, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain & sell unto ROBT. MIDDLETON during his natural life and after to JOHN MIDDLETON his heirs all that tract of land with every of their appurtenances which fell to GEORGE LEAZURE BROWN by the death of his late Mother, ELEANOR BOOTH, deced., containing One hundred acres & is scituate in Parish of Cople & County of Westmorland & formerly belonged to one WILLM. SHOARS and bequeathed by him to one WILLM. SHORT and by him conveyed by Deed dated the 23d day of February 1703 to GEORGE LEAZURE, Grand Father to GEORGE LEAZURE BROWN, and by him bequeathed by his Last Will dated the 17th day of November 1708 to his Daughter, ELEANOR, Mother of sd. GEORGE LEAZ: BROWN and bounded by the Lands of BEND: MIDDLETON, SAML. HARRISON, JOHN HARRISON, BENJA. MIDDLETON and ROBT. MIDDLETON, And also the reversion and remainder thereof; To have and to hold the land & premises with appurtenances unto ROBT. MIDDLETON and JOHN MIDDLETON and assigns during the term of one year by vertue of the Statute for transferring uses into possession sd. ROBT. & JOHN MIDDLETON may be in actual possession of the premises and be enabled to take a release of the same to said ROBERT during his natural life and after his decease to said JOHN & his heirs; In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have interchangeably set their hands and seals teh day and year first above written

At a Court held for the said County the 26th day of March 1751 GEORGE LEAZURE BROWN & BETTY his Wife came into Court & personally acknowledged this their Deed of Lease of Land by them pass'd to ROBT. & JOHN MIDDLETON to be their proper act and deed, (the sd. BETTY being first privately examined accordg. to Law relinquished her Right of Dower & Inheritance of in & to the sd. Land) and order'd to be recorded
