IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen I THOMAS ORLEY in CHERRY POINT NECK in the County of Northumberland in Virginia, Planter, beinge of sound & perfect memory praised bee God for the same, yet knowinge the weake & fraile condition of mans body and the uncertainty of mans life, doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner & forme followinge:
Imprs. I doe give & bequeath my Soule unto God my Crean hopeinge by the merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer after the expiracon of my time here to obtaine an eternall waight of glory wth : him in heaven hereafter; And my body I committ to the earth from whence it came: to be buryed in Christian buryall and for my worldly Estate, I dispose of it as followeth,
It. I give & bequeath unto my deare & loveinge Wife, REBECKA ORLEY, after paymt. of my just debts, all that messuage or tenement whereon I now live, together with all the land & priviledges thereunto belonginge, to have & to hold to her and the heires of her body lawfully to bee begotten under the same tenure by which I doe at pr:sent enjoy the same.
Next, I doe herein give unto my deare Sister, MARY HARDEN, ye Wife of GEORGE HARDEN, Foure hundred ( ) tobco. to bee carefully ( ) decease &deprt: ( ) the first ( ) & soe in case of more( ) moreover it is my ( ) from my Wife as heires ( ) unto JOHN HARDENS Sonne ( ) of MARY HARDEN his Wife ( ) want of such issue unto ( ) ORLEY of WHITECHAPPELL ( ) MIDDLESEX & his heyres;
It. In the Buttery or Milke Hosue; 1 small copper kettle, 1 strip pan & cover, 1 brasse drippinge pan, 2 small Childrens skillets and 1 little brasse kettle, old cases milke trayes & other old lumber 5950. 5 Cowes & 3 calves at 400 p Cowe; 3 yearelings, 2 steeres 1 -2 yeare old the other 3 yeares old, 1 small heifer, 4 sowes & 12 shotes;
To the Corne Feild as it now stands 20 barr: at 60 p. barr; Sweet sented tobco; hanginge in ye housinge, to Aranoco tobco: hanginge; to sweet sented tobco in 16 hogsheads at 400 in a hogsd, wantinge about 100 lbs, in one hhd, - 6200, To Aranoco tobco; in caske -1600;
In the Chamber: 1 feather bed, 2 bolsters, 2 pillowes, 1 rugg, 1 blancket, I pr, of sheets & 2 pillowe bearer; 2 Russia tether chaires & 2 cushions, I old table, 1 press; 1 silke petticoate, 1 silke wascoat & a large scarffe; 2 small scarffes & 5 hoods, 4 table cloathes, 1 doz. napkins, 6 towells, holland petticoats, 2 smocks, a p:cell of head linen, a paire of stockings, small womans ( ), peece of tape, a p:cell of wom( earthern dishes, 4 old cases & sifter,
In the Middle Room. 14 pewter dishes, 2 basons, 1 brass candlestick, looking glasse, 4 leather chaires. 1 old table, couch & 2 little old ( ); 5 petticoates, 2 waiscoates, pr. of stuff sleaves, 2 paire breeches, pair dimity drawers, 4 knives, small remnt. of ( ), old coate, old doublet, 4 paire shooes & paire stockings;
In the Little Room 1 little old feather bed,'1 paire of canvas sheetes,
In the Kitchin: 3 iron Potts & hookes, 2 pestles, pailes, tubs, runlet, andirons,
In the Little Old Chamber: 2 old feather beds & bolsters, 2 pillowes. 1 rugg course sheets & 2 Guns; 2 spades & 2 barrills, iron ware & old iron
JNO: BOGGIS his share in the Crop of Come &Tobco: is included in this appraysemt 31,998. Left unappraised about 4 Bush, Salt, 1 small Silver Sack Cup & about 15 lbs. of tobco:

- Upon the peticon of WILLIAM JOLLAND, who married wth: the Relict of THOMAS ORLEY, deced, It is ordered yt: hee take into his possession a full third part of ye Estate of the sd. ORLEY accordinge to appraisemt. in right of his Wife, hee relinquishinge the Legacy given to his Wife by Will; Provided the said JOLLAND give security for the paymt, of the third of the debts; And it is further ordered that 2000 lbs. of tobco bee allowed the said JOLLAND & taken out of the Inventory of the sd. ORLEYs Estate in consideracon of his Wifes wearinge apparrell & linnen, which were included in the appraisemt.
- It is ordered with consent of WILLIAM JOLLAND, Admr. of THOMAS ORLEY, deced , shall forthwth: pay the summe of 250 lbs of tobco unto JOHN TINGEY outof the deceds. Estate

- Whereas by Bill of Exchange under the hand of THOMAS ORLEY, deced., it appeareth to this Court that the sd. ORLEY stood indebted unto THOMAS SMYTH of LONDON, Mariner, in ye summe of foureteene pounds Sterling & upon non payment of the money by Bill under his hand is to pay fifteene hundred pounds of tobco & caske; And whreas the sd. Bill of Exchange is returned protested & the money not pride accordinge to !the tenor of the sd. Bill, It is therefore ordered that WILLIAM JOLLINS, Admr, of the sd. This condent hath five hundred of six penny nailes of ye Estate of Mr. MORRIS in his hands, The Land whereon this condent, liveth is his this condents owne. This resident receaved of MRS. MOORE and old peece of rotten petticote cutt and made up into a wastcote, a canvas sheete to make a pr. of drawers and a shirt after he this condent hath on ye said Mr. MOOREs a Cert: for 900 acres of land; And further carrot answere
