Will of John Hindmer of Cople Parish in Westmoreland County, being sick of body, dated 2 December 1712.
I give my grandson Hindmer Sheapard 2000 pounds of tobacco to be paid him at the age of ten years and if he dies before he arrives to that age, then I give the said sum to his mother my daughter Ann Sheapard at his death, to be paid by my executrix.
All the rest of my estate after my depts and funeral expences defrayd remain in the possession of my loving wife Sarah for her natural life and at the death of my wife to my daughter Ann Sheppard.

29 February 1719/20. Will of George South of Cople Parish. Codicil dated 26 July 1720. Proved 31 August 1721, recorded 13 September 1721.
Legacies:
(1) to son George South, "by me begot on the body of Ann my wife late the wife of Isaac Shepherd all that my land lying & being on the west side of the marsh near the plantation where Thomas Lambert lately lived being on the head of Flood's Creek and the part of my land on which I am now seated to him son and his heirs forever; a feather bed and if his wife should die his care left to his Godfather Thomas Lambert;
(2) to son John South "by me begot on the body of Ann late the wife of Isaac Shepherd and at this time my present wife all that remaining part of land lying & being on the east side of my sd plantation to him & his heirs forever and my will and meaning is that the main branch swamp falling into the marsh above mentioned shall be the dividing & seperacion between my two sons above mentioned; a feather bed & furniture
(3) to loving wife Ann, "the feather bed and furniture whereon I now lie during her natural life & after her decease my will and desire is that
(4) my daughter Hannah shall have & enjoy the sd bed & furniture to her & her heirs forever;
(5) Remainder of estate to be divided equally between "my wife & children above mentioned."

Codicil: "Since the above written I give to my loving wife Ann South one thousand three hundred pounds of eight penny nails which Thomas Lambert owes me I also give to my sd wife one hundred fifty & six pounds of tobacco that Frances Willson owes me to her own proper use & her heirs forever. I also give & bequeath to my said wife three pairs of shoes & ten shillings that Jeremiah Spurlin owes me to her use & my children. I also give to my said wife one hundred & ten pounds of tobacco that Jane Dunn owes me now the wife of Benja Lamkin being balance of her rent in 1719." Signed by signature.
