William Nash his will.
In the name of God Amen, to all Christain people
[----] concern know you that I William Nash of Great Wicocomoco in the County of Northumberland being perfect in memory [---] present being visited with sickness by the hand of Almighty God I do here make my last will and testament as followeth
Imprimus I give my soul to Almighty God and my body to the earth from whence it came.
First - I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Thomas Nash [---....:] that part or parcel of land that I bought of John Ingram laying [-----] the Dividing Creek also I give him three cows one feather bed [----] furniture to it, one chest, one gun and a spitt, an iron pot and a [--- ] with a proportion of pewter.
Item - I give and bequeath unto [--] second son William Nash the half of seven hundred acres of land which Mr. Gerase Dodson hath rights for to take up and pattent also I give him two cows and one feather bed with furniture to it, one chest, a pot and a gun and a kettle with a proportion of pewter.
Item - I give unto my youngest son John Nash the other half of my land before specified and two cows, one chest, a pot, a kettle and a gun with a proportion of pewter,
Lastly - I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Ann Nash all [----] rest of my cattle and goods both moveables and non moveables. further it is my desire that my, plate shall be equally divided amoungst my wife and children one tankard, two wine cups, one dram cup and seven spoons further it is my desire that my loving brother Mr. Thomas Hopkins shall administer of my estate in the behalf of my wife and children, further it is my desire that Mr. Thomas Hopkins, Mr. Richard Budd and Theodor Barber to be my Overseers over the estate in the behalf of my children, further my desire is that my children be brought up in the fear of God with learning and education and the legacy that I leave them to be given to them when they are seventeen years of age as witness my hand and seal this 8th of November 1655.

- The Cort: doth order that the Estate belonging to the Children of Mr. WM: NASH, deced., shall be & remaine for in the hands of Mrs. ANN MALLETT, the late Wife of the said Mr. NASH, according to the tenor of a Bond from under the hand of Mr. JOHN MALLETT, whoe marryed the Widdowe & Relict of the said Mr. NASH, made to Mr. THOMAS HOPKINS, Capt, RICH: BUDD &THEODOR BAKER, Overseers of the said Mr. WM: NASH, his Will, the said Bond bearing date the 25th of Aprill 1656 and is Recorded

Mr. John Mallett his bond to Mr. Thomas Hopkins, Capt. Richard Budd and Theodor Baker.
Be it known unto all men by these presents that John Mallett of London, Merchant do bind me my heirs [----]
admtrs or assignees in the full sum of five hundred [----] sterling to be paid to Thomas Hopkins, Richard Budd and Theodor Baker. In witness of I have hereto set my hand [-----] seal this 15th day of Apri11656.
The condition of this obligation is such that if the above [----] John Mallett do perform the last will and
testament [---] Wm. Nash of Wicocomoco in the County of Northumberland that is to say to deliver
to Thomas Nash now being at the age of six years and a half when he comes to [-----] years of seventeen that is in the year of our Lord 1666 September 27th, that land bought of John Ingram laying [---] the Dividing Creek three cows, one feather bed with [---] furnitures, one chest, one gun, a spit, an iron pot [-----] with a proportion of pewter and plate to Wm. Nash [-----] half of seven hundred acres of land which" Mr. Geruase Dodson hath rights for to take up (but not yet taken) also two cows and one feather bed with furniture to it
one chest, a pot and a gun, a kettle with a proportion of pewter and plate in the year of our Lord 1668 August the 15th
To John Nash the other half of the seven hundred acres which Mr. Geruase Dodson hath rights to take up (not yet taken) two cows one chest, a pot and a kettle, a gun with a porportion of pewter and plate at the age of 17 years being in the year of our Lord 1670 November the 20th all which things are specified in the inventory taken of the aforesaid [--- ]Nash his goods which goods are now and to remain till [-] time the foresaid three children come to the years aforesaid in the hands of Ann Mallett late wife of Wm. Nash and upon the lands laying at the Dividing Creek then the obligation to be void or else in full force and vertue.

Mr. Thomas Hopkins his gift to Thomas Nash.
Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Hopkins for and in consideration of natural love and
affection I bear for my Nephew and Godchild Thomas Nash oldest son to brother Brother William Nash and sister Ann do hereby acknowledge to have given two years ago one cow calf of a blackish color and marked with a swallow tail on the right ear also having a white tip at the end of her tail and be now about two years old which said beast I do now hereby confirm to be by me bestowed and given to the said Thomas Nash my nephew and Godchild and his heirs or assignees forever with her increase for the full confirmation
which of! have hereunto set my hand this 16th day of May 1656.

John Merryday his certificate of marriage to Mrs. Ann Nash alias Mallett.

I do hereby ceertify all whom it may concern that John Merryday and Mrs. Ann Nash alias Mallett did (the eleventh day of September one thousand six hundred fifty and six) appear before me Col. John Trussell, and according to an act of Parliament of the four and twentieth of August fifty three, were duly and solomnely marryed by me, there being also present George Colclough, Leonard Spencer and John Carter witnesses to the said marriage. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above
written.
