      Lancaster County, VA, Order Book 5, 1702-1713, page 30 - 14 April 1703 Court. Wm. Lawson having brought suit against Jno. Heale for ye sum of 7 pounds, 14 shilling Sterling ye defendant after several deliberate pleas, pleaded ye Geo. McGee for nil tobacco and whereupon a jury being impaneled to try ye case and having had open of whole matter for verdict do say we of ye jury whose names is under written do find for ye defendant. Jury was listed. Upon which verdict ye Court do order & ye plaintiff be ___ and pay cost als. execute.

      Lancaster County, VA, Deed Book 9, 1701-1715, page 124 - Know all men by these presents that I William Lawson of the City of Bristoll, Merchant, have appointed Thomas White of the County of Lancaster and Parish of White Chapel in Virginia my true and lawful Attorney for me to demand and receive of all and every persons residing within the Colony of Virginia all such debts and sums of money as is owing or belonging to me by the said persons and upon now payment thereof to sue imprison and prosecute for ye same and upon such suit proceed to Judgment and execution and to execute all other reasonable thing whatsoever for discharging the same as needful to be done, giving my said Attorney my full and absolute power in the premises holding firm all and whatsoever my said Attorney shall lawfully do whereunto I have here set my hand and my seal this 13 October 1703.       - Indenture made 2 July 1719 between William Lawson of King and Queen County of one part and Gabriel Packet of Richmond County of ye other part. Witnessed that said William for ye Rents and Covenants hereafter mentioned do set and to farm let unto said Gabriel the Plantation whereon said Gabriel now lives in Richmond County and which he paid Rent the last year for to said William left to the said William by his Father, Joshua Lawson; To have and to hold to the said Gabriel during the term of his and his said wife Elizabeth now living, their lives paying a year a Corn Rent if demanded, said Gabriel keeping the housing and fences with the Orchard in good repair and paying annually on the fifth of November ye rent of (blank) if the same be lawfully demanded; In witness whereof the parties above have interchangeably put their hands and seals ye day and year above written.       - Indenture made 6 October 1731 between William Lawson and Elizabeth, his wife of Parish St. Stephens in County of King and Queen of one part and Henry Sisson of Parish of North Farnham in County of Richmond of other part; Witnessed that William Lawson and Elizabeth, his wife in consideration of the sum of 5 shillings Sterling paid by Henry Sisson do bargain and sell unto Henry Sisson all that tract of land situate in Parish of North Farnham containing 200 acres from a marked Pohickoy west 100 poles, southwest by south 264 poles; east 184, northeast by north 184 poles, together with all houses, orchards, commodities and appurtenances to the premises belonging... Signed William Lawson. Witnesses N. Brockenbrough, John Bramham and Edgcombe Suggitt. Recorded 6 October 1731.

Deed and released for the above 200 acres for and in consideration of 62 pounds current money of Virginia, William Lawson and Elizabeth, his wife of Parish of St. Stephens in County of King and queen sold to Henry Sisson of Parish of North Farnham in County of Richmond the above land. Same witnesses and signatures.

      Middlesex County, VA, Deed Book 3, 1703-1720, page 322 - Know all men by these presents that we John Smith, William Lawson and Rice Curtis are bound unto Matthew Kemp, Gentleman, first in Commission of the Peace for said County in sum of 300 pounds sterling, this 2 February 1713/14. The Condition of this obligation is such that if John Smith do pay unto Samuel Smith, orphan of John Smith, deceased all such estate as shall appear to be due said orphan as soon as he attain to lawful age and keep harmless said Justices from troubles about the Estate that then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain. In presence of John Curtis and William Stanard. Signed J. Smith, William Lawson and R. Curtis. Acknowledged in open Court held for Middlesex County 2 February 1713/14 by the subscribers to it and admitted to record.

John Smith, deceased, John Smith is admitted his Guardian giving security, William Lawson and Rice Curtis became his Securities and they acknowledged their Bond in Court which is admitted to Record

      The Parish Register of Christ Church, Middlesex County, VA from 1653 to 1812, Christenings 1714 Section - Jane daughter of William and Jane Lawson born 12 February and baptized 15 February 1713/14.

      Middlesex County, VA, Deed Book 3, 1703-1720, pages 329-330 - Know all men by these presents that we William Lawson & John Vivion of County of Middlesex are bound unto Matthew Kemp, Gentleman, first in Commission of the Peace for said County in sum of 200 pounds sterling money of England this 6 April 1714. The Condition of this obligation is such that if William Lawson , Administrator of all the goods, chattels and credits of Jane Lawson, deceased do make a true inventory of all goods of said deceased and farther do make a just and tre account of his actions and doings therein when required and if it shall herafter appear that any Last Will and Testament was made by the said deceased that said William Lawson as required do render and deliver up his Letters of Administrator that then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain. In presence of us John Curtis and Thomas Mountague. Signed William Lawson and John Vivion. Acknowledged in Court the 6 April 1714 and admitted to record.

      Middlesex County, VA, Order Book 5, 1710-1721, page 175, 6 April Court 1714 - Lawson Administrator Lawson. William Lawson made Oath according to Law that Jane Lawson departed this life without making a Will so far as he knows or believes and having performed what is usual, Certificate is granted him for obtaining Letters of Administration upon the Decedent’s Estate in due form.

W. by S. 264 poles; E. 184 N. E. by N. 184 pole, Together with all houses orchards comodities and appurtenances to the premises belonging, To have and to hold the land and other the premises with appurtenances unto HENRY SISSON and assigns during the term of one whole year paying therefore unto WILLIAM LAWSON his heirs the rent of one Ear of Indian Corn at the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin if lawfully demanded to the intent that by vertue of these presents and of the Statute for transferring uses into possession.
