The tract Richards Delight passed as a "moiety" to Dennis Nalley. perhaps as a wedding gift. my best guess is that Margaret Jones and Joseph Thomas had a daughter that married Peter Michell to get the land into Peter's hands.
in 1784 there was a lot of defaults with auction by the state. Dennis Nalley could have purchased the land outright or the Rebecca could be a d/o of Janet. Most of the cases I've seen, a relative bought the land to keep it in the family

This Indenture made this 21st day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and three Between Rebecca Nalley widow of Dennis Nalley John Vermillion and Henrietta Vermillion his wife Thomas Nevitt and Mary Nevitt his wife John Nalley and Richard Nalley all of the County of Washington and district of Columbia of the one part and Michael Jenifer Stone Esquire of Charles County and State of Maryland of the other part Witnesseth that the said Rebecca Nalley John Vermillion Henrietta Vermillion Thomas Nevitt Mary Nevitt John Nalley and Richard Nalley for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred and twenty two Dollars and sixty six Cents Current Money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said Michael Jenifer Stone at or before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have and each of them hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth give grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto the said Michael Jenifer Stone his heirs and assigns All that Moiety or half part of a tract of land called Richards Delight lying and being in Charles County and State of Maryland aforesaid which the aforesaid Dennis Nalley on or about the thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and Eighty four purchased of a certain Janet M Laron formerly known by the name of Janet Mitchell wife of Peter Mitchell John Carnes and Peggy his wife former ly known by the name of Peggy Alexander M Laron of Charles County aforesaid as by a Deed bearing date the day and year last aforesaid remaining upon the Records of Charles County may appear which said Moiety or half part of the tract of land aforesaid is described by the Deed aforesaid to be bounded as follows to wit Begining at a marked Oak by a run side and runing thence South East Eighty perches Thence south nineteen Degrees West thirty two perches thence West by South one hundred and sixty perches thence north by East one hundred and one perches thence north Eighty nine Degrees East to the begining containing Ninety Eight Acres be it more or less together with all and singular the buildings improvements and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining and all the Right title Estate Interest Claim or demand both in law and in Equity of them the said Rebecca Nalley John Vermillion Henrietta Vermillion Thomas Nevitt Mary Nevitt John Nalley and Richard Nalley and each of them of in to the said bargained and sold premises with the appurtenances and every part thereof To Have and to Hold the aforesaid bargained and sold premises and appurtenances to him the said Michael Jenifer Stone his heirs and assigns to his and their sole use forever And the said Rebecca Nalley John Vermillion Henrietta Vermillion Thomas Nevitt Mary Nevitt John Nalley and Richard Nalley do hereby for themselves their heirs Executors and administrators covenant and agree to and with the said Michael Jenifer Stone his heirs Executors administrators and assigns that they the said Rebecca Nalley John Vermillion Henrietta Vermillion Thomas Nevitt Mary Nevitt John Nalley and Richard Nalley together with Aaron Nalley Ann Nalley and Dennis Nalley (children of the first named Dennis Nalley who are not yet of full age) are lawfully seized in fee of the premises that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances and that they the said Rebecca Nalley John Vermillion Henrietta Vermillion Thomas Nevitt Mary Nevitt John Nalley and Richard Nalley and their heirs will warrant and defend the aforesaid premises and appurtenances to him the said Michael Jenifer Stone his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons claiming by through form or under them the said Grantors or either of them or their heirs And This Indenture further Witnesseth that they the said Rebecca Nalley John Vermillion Thomas Nevitt John Nalley and Richard Nalley have and each of them hath constituted and appointed and by these presents do and each of them doth constitute and appoint John E. Ford and James Robertson of Charles County and State of Maryland their and each of their attornies for them and in their names Jointly or severally to appear before any Judge Justices of the peace or other person legally authorized by the laws of Maryland to take the acknowledgment of Deeds of Charles County and then and there to acknowlege the aforegoing Indenture to be their and each of their the said Grantors Act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned in order that the same may be recorded according to law In Testimony whereof the parties aforesaid have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first aforesaid
