      WILL OF JOSEPH MINTON
      In the Name of God Amen. I Joseph Minton of King George County do make this my Last Will.
      I give to my two sons Thomas and Joseph ten pounds each and to my daughter Mary ten pounds and a side saddle. And all my cloths to be divided between my said two sons and to my son Thomas I give my riding horse Jack & my saddle and bridle. And to my son Joseph I give a yearling mare colt.
      I give to Martha Tayler my little box and what is in it and five hundred pounds of Tobacco.
      I give my son John all my lands to him and his heirs forever.
      And all the rest of my Estate Negroes and what else I have, I give to be equally divided between my sons John and Daniel and my daughter Elizabeth.
      I do appoint my friends Col. William Robinson and his son Maximilian Robinson my Executors and to this will I do set my hand and seale this 26th of June 1737.

      At a Court held for King George County the 3d day of November 1738. The Last Will & Testament of Joseph Minton, Deceased, was presented into Court by William Robinson, Gent: one of the Executors do made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of Tho Monroe and Martha Minton (late Martha Tayler) and admitted to reord.

      [The account book of Colonel William Robinson contains his executorial activities as executor of Joseph Minton of Hanover Parish who died 12th of October 1738. This record book includes the guardian accounts of the orphans of Joseph Minton, deceased. Between the date of his will and the date of his death, Joseph Minton married Martha Tayler who is mentioned in the said will. She thereby became entitled to dower in his landed estate. By 4 January 1739/40 the said Martha had married John Muschatt, tailor, of Hanover Parish and they petitioned for the allotment of her dower in his landed estate.
