      The will of Elizabeth Bateman, late of CC, widow, declared by her word of mouth on Apr 13, 1776, being then sick of the sickness whereof she died, in the presence of us.
      To Thomas Bateman - the sorrel mare and the young horse.
      To Benjamin Bateman - the desk.
      To Anne Philips - 1 dish and 4 plates and all my wearing apparel. (step sister?)
      To Sarah Bateman - 1 bed bolster, sheets, rug, and blankets.
      To Leonard Branson's children - 1 shilling sterling each.
      Thomas and Jane Bateman - all the rest to be divided between them.

      George Crain, son of John Crain, an orphan, 18 years old next Nov, came into Court and chose Belane Posey as his guardian. Ordered that sd George Crain's Estate be delivered
      to sd guardian, he giving bond and security for the same. Bond taken Jun 12, 1779 in the sum of 200 £Securities = William Hanson and Robert Mundell.
      As there are no relation of Elizabeth Bateman's son George Crain in this County, the court is of the opinion that administration of her estate ought to be granted to Belain Posey, who this day was chosen guardian to sd George Crain, her son and only representative, and ordered Letters to be granted accordingly to sd Belain Posey.
