On the back of the will was thus written: I give to VIRGILIA BARTLIGHT, 21 s., to be paid to my exc., and that my sd. son LANCELOT requires any payment of a legacy left him by his grand mother in England, that I do exclude him from every pt. of the afsd. legacy. May 11, 1944; signed: JOSHUA NELSON.

To son LANCELOT, my gold ring, desires him to ingraciate himself with some skillful person that useth the sea and endeavor to get him to go with him to some ship master to Edward Dixon by name and to be bound as they can agree. My son paying to become a seaman.

To George Thompson, St. Mary's County, right to plantation he now lives on, called Rockey Point.'
To son THOMAS GREAVES, plantation he lives on, called Hopewell," and pt of "Hardships Addition and at his decease to my grandson THOMAS GREAVES, JR; and for want of heirs to my grandson JOSHUA GREAVES, and for want of his heirs to his brother JOHN GREAVES, and for want of his heirs to my granddau HENRIETTA ANDERSON, and for want of her heirs, so on to the youngest of my son THOMAS's children. For want of such heirs then to fall to grandau. TABITHA GREAVES, dau to JOHN GREAVES, Jr., deceased, and for want of such heir to her brother JOHN GREAVES, and for want of his heirs to his brother JESSE GREAVES and for want of such heirs to fall to my son GEORGE GREAVES.
To grandson JESSE GREAVES the plantation his father lived on when he died being pt of Greaves Chance."
