Apr 7, 1791 from Barton Tabbs and Helen, of St. Mary's County (which sd Helen is one of the daughters and co-heirs of George Maxwell, late of CC, dead) to John Campbell of CC, for 20 £, one seventh part of a tract of land in CC called Woods Wilderness, late the property of the afd George Maxwell decd, and also one sevcnth part of a tract of land (being part of a tract of land called Birds Head, situated in CC), containing about 100 acres, formerly the property and estate of Luke Davis of CC decd, and by him conveyed to the afd George Maxwell by CC deed dated May 9, 1755. John Sothoron, late of CC, decd, on about Jan 20, 1789, "agree for and purchase" of John Swan and Elizabeth, his wife, Helen Maxwell now Helen Tabbs, wife of the afd Barton Tabbs), Agnes Maxwell (now Agnes Swann, wife to Joseph Swan), Sarah Emerson Maxwell (now wife to Seth Barton), John Campbell, and Marion, his wife, May Maxwell, and Mary Maxwell, which sd Elizabeth Swan, etc., are all the daughters and co-heirs of the afd George Maxwell, sd tract of land called Maxwells Seat, supposed to contain about 487-1/2 acres, for the price of 2 £16 shillings per acre, upon survey. Sd John Sothoron, before a deed to Maxwells Seat was executed to him by the afd heirs of George Maxwell, did die, intestate, leaving the afd Richard Sothoron, Benjamin Sothoron, etc, his heirs and legal representatives.
