  === Charles County Land Record Book G#3, 1756-1761; Page 59_ Lease. Apr 25, 1757 from George Waple of CC, to Joseph Burges of CC, planter, the lease to as Joseph Burgess of part of a tract of land called the Garden enlarged, lying in CC, and bounded by the north side of the mill dam belonging to sd Joseph Burges at present, laid out for 12 acres. Also sd Burges is to have and to hold sd leased land unto sd Joseph Burgess and his wife, Ann, during their lives, and after their decease, to sd George waple. Burges promises to pay Waple 11 shillings Virginia currency per acre, to be paid ready down, on demand. Signed - George Waple, Jos (& his mark) Burges. Wit - Rich Harrison, Sam Hanson. Alse, wife of sd George Waple, freely consented to this lease. Recorded Apr 30, 1757.
