      Edward Green Sr's Will.
      I, Edward Green Sr of CC, am weak and infirm of body but of sound & disposing mind & memory.
      To my two daughters, Elizabeth & Sarah
      - all the land that I am possessed of, to the use and maintenance of my two daughters, Elizabeth & Sarah, during the time that they shall live single. When one of them marries, sd land shall belong to the other for the afd purpose, that is, of support and maintenance during the time of her single life. Sd land, after the marriage of my two daughters afd, shall go to my two sons, Wilfred and Lewis
      - the dwelling place within the land belonging thereto and its appurtenances to belong to my son Wilfred, and the rest to go to my son Lewis.
      I give the following Negroes: will to my son John, & Charles, Bett, Poll, Joney, & Harry to be divided equally between my sons, Edward, Matthew, Joseph, Wilfred, & Lewis. I leave the 6 working Negroes following, to wit, Ben, Harry, Pegg, Lucy, Cloe, and Patt, to be employed under the direction of my executrix & executor, for the purpose of raising money for the defense of a law suit, now depending in the General Court of Maryland, between myself, my son Edward, & Benjamin Cawood, esq, formerly collector of the taxes for CC, if sd Negroes can be found from the "wrek" of my estate, they are to be equally divided among my sons Matthias, Joseph, Wilfred, and Lewis.
      To my daughter Susannah - 2 crop hogsheads of tobacco, to weigh each nett, 950 lbs, to be paid from the next year's crop, 1 hogshead, and the other out of the crop to be made the year thereafter, from the lands first mentioned.

      To grandson Joseph Green of Giles all the land I possess whereon my mansion house stands. Also negros; Harry, Nan, Billy being children of Jude.

      I, Josias Green of CC, being sick and weak of body, but of sound mind and memory;
      To brother Lewis Green, my chest and the whole of my wearing apparel.
      To uncle Charles Green, 20 dollars, and I hope he will have me buried in a decent manner.
      To nephew Isadore Green, my chest and all my working tools.
      To brother Wilfred Green, my house and lot in George Town. Also my watch.

      Charles County Land Records 1792-1796; Liber N#4; Page 103. May 30, 1793 from Henry H Chapman of CC, to Alexander Hamilton of Prince Georges County. A decree passed in the high Court of Chancery at Dec Term, 1792, in favor of Benjamin Cawood against Elizabeth Green, executrix, and Elizabeth, Sarah, Wilfred, and Lewis Green, defendants in sd suit, and devisees of Edward Green, for the sale of the real property of sd Edward Green, for the payment of his just debts. Afd Henry H Chapman was, by sd decree, appointed Trustee for the purpose of selling the real property of sd Edward Green. Sd Chapman, as Trustee, on May 25 instant, sold the real property and the afd Alexander became the purchaser of that part of sd property, being part of a tract of land in CC called Greens Inheritance, and the same part of sd Greens Inheritance which sd Edward Green brought of William Green, bounded by Peter Green's part of Green's Inheritance now in the possession of Samuel Hanson Sr, Esq, containing about 57 acres. Now sd Chapman, as Trustee, for 85 £10- shillings, confirms to sd Hamilton, the above mentioned land. The land was devised or descended from sd Edward Green decd, to sd Elizabeth, Sarah, Wilfred, and Lewis Green, his children. Signed - Henry H. Chapman. Wit Geo Lee*, Wm H McPherson*. May 3D, 1793 from Henry H Chapman of CC, to John Chapman Sr of CC_ [See prior deed for Henry Chapman being appointed Trustee for the purpose of selling the real property of sd Edward Green]. Sd Chapman, as Trustee, on May 25, sold the real property and the afd John Chapman became the purchaser of that part of sd property given on Mar 28, 1785 by deed, by Giles Green to his son, Edward Green, called in sd deed, the plantation he, sd Edward Green, now dwells on, and also all that part of Greens Inheritance that sd Giles Green has any right to, that lies on the east side or right hand of the main road that leads from Port Tobacco in CC to Piscataway in Prince Georges County, containing about 100 acres. Now sd Henry H Chapman, as Trustee, for 125 £10, confirms to sd John Chapman, the above mentioned land. The land was devised or descended from sd Edward Green decd, to sd Elizabeth Green [sic] as executrix, and Elizabeth, Sarah, Wilfred, and Lewis Green, his children.
