      Proceedings of the Orphan Court. Oct 14, 1777. The Court met. Present: Messrs Samuel Hanson, Daniel Jenifer, George Dent, & John Dent, Walter Hanson, Register.
      Alexander Scott, an orphan, son to James Scott, deceased, 16 years of age next Jan 26, came into court and made choice of his brother, Robt Scott, for his guardian, who, being present, accepts. Ordered that the orphan's estate be delivered to sd guardian, he giving bond and security. Bond taken Nov 8, 1777.

Dec 20. 1793 from Thomas Contee of Prince Georges County, Esquire, to Alexander Scott of VA, Esquire, for 1622 £ and for so much as sd Alexander Scott may secure to be paid by written obligation under his hand and seal, herein conveyed are 3 parcels of land in CC, to wit, part of a tract of land called Rozers Refuge, bounded by Port Tobacco Cr and the eastern banks of the same, where is the dividing line between a part of sd tract lately in the tenure of Walter Pye but now occupied by Robert Fergusson, and that part of sd tract now in possession of Thomas Contee and intended to be hereby conveyed, thence to a tract of land called Thomson Ton, the head of St, John's Branch, containing 551 acres, reserving therefrom 10 square feet each way of the ground where the graves of 2 children of sd Thomas Contee are so as to include sd graves. Also, part of one other tract of land, adjoining the former tract, called Tomson Ton, which sd land was formerly sold by James Gilpin, and recorded in the CC Land Records, bounded by James Gilpin, Thomas Contee, containing about 170 acres. Also, part of one other tract of land in CC called Wathens Adventure, which was heretofore sold by deed to Thomas Contee by John Wathen, and recorded in the Land Records of CC, bounded by John Wathen, Thomas Contee. Wit - John Smith Brookes, Saml Hepburn (Prince Georges County JPs), This deed was acknowledged in Prince Georges County; the dower of Sarah Russell Contee, wife of Benjamin Contee is not granted.
