Will of Samuel Abell, Jr., St Mary's County, 7/1/1774-7/15/1777.
Wife: Eleanor, use of water mill, etc. and 1/3 pt. of the residue of my personal estate.
Grandson: Elisha Morgan, a negro girl named Sarah; if she dies before Elisha comes of age, he is to get another negro of not less than 13 years of age.
Grandson: Bennet Wimsatt, one likely negro girl of not less an 13 years old, when he arrives at the age of 18 and not before.
No accounts from my books shall be claimed against any of my daughters' husbands.
Sons: Samuel and Robert (Execs.), all the remaining balance of my real estate and personal estate.
Wit.: John Abell, Sr., Thomas Abell, Arthur Abell.
CODICIL, 7/21/1774: Sons to have liberty to sell 4 negroes named Ned, Sam, Boss, and Dick or Tom to pay my debts. Same witnesses as will.

i. Phillip Abell was born ABT 1741, and died BEF 2 NOV 1772 in St Mary's County, MD. He married Dryden Anne Jarboe BEF 1772, daughter of Charles Jarboe. She died AFT 1786 in St Mary's County, MD.
ii. Winifred Abell was born 1745 in St Andrew's Episcopal, St Mary's, MD, and died 25 MAR 1820 in Holy Mary Convent, Washington, KY. She married Benjamin Morgan. He was born ABT 1740.
iii. Dorothy Abell was born ABT 1750, and died ABT 1824 in Washington County, KY. She married Robert Wimsatt 1771 in St Mary's County, MD, son of Richard Wimsatt and Theresa Ford. He was born ABT 1732 in St Mary's County, MD, and died BEF FEB 1794 in St Mary's County, MD. She married John Barton Abell 16 AUG 1813 in Washington County, KY, son of Samuel Abell and Susanna Spalding. He was born 1755, and died 1 FEB 1820 in Washington County, KY. She married Mr. Windsor BEF 1815.
iv. Aletha Abell was born 4 APR 1753 in St Mary's County, MD, and died 1 DEC 1821 in Washington County, KY. She married Benedict Joseph Spalding ABT 1770 in St Mary's County, MD, son of Benedict Joseph Spalding and Elizabeth Mattingley. He was born 12 DEC 1746 in Calvert County, MD, and died 1 AUG 1815 in Washington County, KY.
v. Samuel Abell was born 13 JAN 1755 in St Andrew's Episcopal, St Mary's, MD, and died BEF 1810 in St Mary's County, MD. He married Mary Bowes, daughter of Timothy Bowes and Mary Anne Abell.
vi. Robert Abell was born 8 MAY 1757 in St Andrew's Episcopal, St Mary's, MD, and died 13 SEP 1802 in St Mary's County, MD. He married Margaret Mills 3 NOV 1777 in St Francis Xaviar, Washington, KY, daughter of Justinian Mills and Mary Tant. She was born 30 JAN 1760 in Leonardtown, St Mary's, MD, and died 19 FEB 1818 in Marion County, KY.
vii. Joseph Abner Abell was born 29 JUL 1759 in St Andrew's Episcopal, St Mary's, MD. He married Aletha Abell, daughter of Richard Abell and Anne. She was born 22 APR 1764 in St Andrew's Episcopal, St Mary's, MD.
viii. Eleanor Abell was born ABT 1760, and died BEF 1 DEC 1797 in St Mary's County, MD. She married Thomas Greenwell BET 1778 AND 1782 in MD, son of Phillip Greenwell and Mary Manning. He was born 4 SEP 1754 in St Mary's County, MD, and died ABT 1812 in St Mary's County, MD.
ix. Mary Abell died BEF 14 FEB 1815 in St Mary's County, MD. She married Ignatius Abell ABT 1783, son of Samuel Abell and Susanna Spalding.
