At the request of Henry Joshua Jameson the following Depositions and Power of Attorney was recorded this 1st day of June Anno Domini 1796 Maryland Charles County to wit Be it known to all whom it may Concern that William Queen aged Seventy Appeared before me the Subscriber One of the Justices of the Peace for the State and County aforesaid who in Oath deposed and said that he has known Henry Joshua Jameson from his Infancy and that he is the only Surviving Son of a Certain Thomas Jameson deceased who in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty Eight went over to the Kingdom of Great Britain in order to Secure an estate that he claimed as Heir to his father Thomas Jameson who was Grandfather to Henry Joshua Jameson aforesaid as her has always understood
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my Seal the date above written

Maryland Charles County to wit Be it known to all whom it may Concern that Ann Burch aged Seventy Eight Appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace for State and County Aforesaid who on Oath deposed and Said that she has known Henry Joshua Jameson from his infancy and that he is the reputed and only Surviving Son of Thomas Jameson deceased who she has Always understood went over to the Kingdom of Great Britain respecting an Estate he claimed there and that he died in that country

Know All men by these presents that I Henry Josua Jameson of Charles County in the State of Maryland have named and Constituted and by these Presents do name Appoint and make my trusty friend Francis Newman Mercht of Charles County in the state of Maryland my true and lawfull Attorney from me and in my named and to my use to demand Sue for recover and receive All and every Sum or Sums of Money to me due or oweing by Sundry persons in the Kingdom of England and also to sue for recover and receive all and sundry Lands and especially Certain Lands and Coal Mines near Uligan in the County of Lancashire in the Said Kingdom of England now illegally held by one John Hayes his Executors Administrators or Assigns and formerly leased to the said John Hayes by my Grandfather Thomas Jameson Giving and hereby Granting unto my Said Attorney Francis Newman Mercht my full power and Authority to use and exercise all Such arts things and devices in the law as shall be necessary for recovering of the Said debt Lands and Acquitances or other discharges in my name to make and give and generally to do and execute in the premisses as fully as I myself might or Could do being personally Present rectifying Confirming and Allowing all and whatever my said Attorney Shall lawfully do or Cause to be done therein by these Presents

On the back of the a foregoing Power of Attorney was thus written to wit
We Richard Barnes and Wm H McPherson two of the Justices of the Peace for Charles County do hereby Certify and Attest that upon the day of the date hereof Henry Joshua Jameson of Said County only Surviving heir of Thomas Jameson did personally appear before us and Acknowledged tht in Virtue thereof he had Signed Sealed and delivered the written letter of Attorney an Act and deed to the uses intents and purposes therein mentioned As also that upon the same day Ch Th Rayment and Ra: Heathcote did personally Appear before us and being Solemnly sworn on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God made oath that they were present and did see the said Henry Joshua Jameson [a only surviving heir of Thomas Jameson] Seal and deliver the Said Letter of Attorney and they themselves witness to the Execution thereof ubscribed their names as Attesting the same and further made Oath that the names Ch: Th. Rayment and Ra; Heathcote appearing Subscribed to the said letter of Attorney as witnesses Attesting the Execution thereof are the respective proper hand writing of the deponents and that the mark is the proper mark of Henry Joshua Jameson the party Executing the said letter of Attorney
In Testimony of which we have Subscribed these Presents at Port Tobacco in Charles County and State of Maryland this first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety Six

At the request of Raphael Jameson the following Deed was recorded July 25, 1807
Indenture made June 17, 1807; Eleanor Jameson and Elizabeth Jameson in consideration of $1050 current money of United States paid by Raphael Jameson have sold all their right and title to a tract of land called "Hall's Place" and is the same parcel of land which Henry J. Jameson late of CC died seized of and which by his last will and testament be placed to Eleanor Jameson and Elizabeth Jameson.
