Whereas NICHOLAS RUSSELL of OCCQUIA did in ye yeare of or Lord God 1669 sett out marked & bounde a parcell of lande by Estimacon One hundred and fifty acres beinge on ye South side of ACQUIA CREEKE & extending by a lyne of marked trees Westerly into ye woods to ye Ridge or near a Rich Vallie by ye Creeke & part of his tract of land where he now dwells beginninge at ye rich Vallie & from thence by an other lyne of marked trees Northwest to HOPE CREEKE or near that course of ye HOPE CREEKE & soe down that Creeke to ye Mouth thereof finally downe OCCQUIA to ye first beginninge wch said lines & corner trees are to ye Neighbours & Inhabitants well known wch said lande ye said NICHOLAS RUSSELL did convey in fee to JOSEPH RANDALL and MICHAELL HILL in Joint Tenancy in ye yeare above said by a well executed Deed & did give to them Livery & Seizin thereof by wch meanes they held ye premises dureinge ye life of ye said JOSEPH RANDALL wthout division hee dyeing & ye said MICHAEL HILL became seized of ye whole by Survivorship accordinge to ye nature of Joint Tenancy who afterwards dyed & ye said lands did descend to REBECCA his Daughter & heire who intermarried wth RICHARD HEAD Miller who beinge in ye full possession & seisin thereof did by their Deed dated ye 11th day of February 1684 sell & convey the said Lande wth all its appurtenances by a well executed Deed to RICHARD MARTINE & his heires forever who beinge in his Lawfull Seizin thereof did convey ye said premises to mee ye said JOHN CARR as by ye same will appeare duely executed in Stafford Court. Now know yee that I the said JOHN CARR for Two hundred acres of land past in Exchange wth mee by THOMAS CHAPMAN sittuate in OCCQUIA & where ye said THOMAS CHAPMAN now lives beinge ye uppermost halfe of foure hundred acres purchased by him of JOHN FASSAKER out of his Pattent of 1600 acres next to & adjoyninge to ye land of THOMAS NORMAN & alsoe in consideration of ye sume of Two thousande two hundred & fortie pounds of Tobacco in Caske securied to be paid mee by him ye said THOMAS CHAPMAN have given exchanged sold to him ye said THOMAS CHAPMAN his heires ye above expressed one hundred and fifty acres of lande bee ye same more or less on OCCQUIA in Stafford County. I ANN CARMALT late of Maryland but now of Stafford County in Virginia Widow do put and bind as servants to my loving & good friend BURR HARRISON two of my poor & small children now with me in my great want and necessity as now being left a poor & distressed widow therefore for the more and better Christian care of two of my children I do bind my son and daughter, HENRY and BRIDGET CARMALT unto Burr Harrison to serve as followeth my son Henry to serve until he shall be twenty and one years and my daughter to serve until she shall be seventeen or day of marriage but if it should please God that Burr Harrison should dye before my son & daughter shall serve the said term then my son & daughter to be free and not to serve any other person .. this 19th day October 1699. My son Henry is five years old and my daughter Bridget is seven years of age my daughter to serve no longer than she is seventeen years which is 7 years (sic.) from this day.

LUCKETTS & running ENE to the head of the valley afsd containing 150 acres he it mare or less ., 6th day March 1707/8.

MORLEY of Charles County in Province of Maryland this 6th of March anno 1707 .. in consideration sum 7000 pounds of good Tobo and cask to me in hand paid by JOHN UNDERWOOD of Stafford County planter .. have sold all my right title and Interest to 300 acres of land situate on South side quantiquot creek in county afsd being part of the uppermost thousand acres included in WM. BOURNES Pattent of 2000 acres which uppermost thousand acres begins at a marked line of trees upon Quanticot Creek side running clear & through a small branch or Swamp which divides this thousand acres of land from 200 acres sold by Wm. Bourne to RICHARD GIBSON called Ankrans Land the first of which thousand (vizt) the sd Wm. Bourne sold unto THOMAS BARTON 400 acres running down the said creek for breadth & South west into the woods near the Little Back creek & parallel the head line the next 300 acres belonging to MARY the widow & relict of WM. WALTEREDGE deced running the same courses as the other so that the said 300 acres sold or in-tended to be sold is to take its first bounds beginning from the lowermost line of the said 300 acres belonging to MARY WALTEREDGE observing the same courses forementioned till it be compleat that 300 acres mentioned to be sold --

BOURNS pattent being one half of that land conveyed to me by deed from DANIEL MARLEY the other part being sold by me to THOMAS CHAPMAN SENIOR which is divided by a line of marked trees formerly made and agreed upon by Thomas Chapman Senior and the said Underwood included in William Bourn's pattent of two thousand acres which uppermost thousand acres begins at a marked line of trees on Quantico creek side running thro a small branch on swamp which divides this 1000 acres from 200 acres of land sold by William Bourne to RICHARD GIBSON called Amkorums Land the first of which thousand (vizt.) the said Bourne sold unto THOMAS BARTON 400 acres runing down the said creek into the woods near the little back creek and parralel with the head line the next 300 acres be-longing to MARY the Widdow and relict to WILLIAM WALTRIDGE deceased runing same course as the other till it be compleat before mentioned so the 150 acres mentioned to be sold ..
