IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen. I RICHARD HOPWOOD being very sick & weak of body but perfectly whole & sound in Soul & mind, do desire according to Gods appointmt. to leave my House in order. Imprs. I divide my hundred acres of land joyning the land of ROBERT BENNETT, First, I give & bequeath unto my beloved Wife, MARY, the South side from the first great Ditch dureing her life time and afterwards to fall to my Son. MOSES HOPWOOD, I likewise desire that my Son, MOSES, may have the liberty of tending the Old Orchard from the row of Cherry trees about the Tobacco House. and that the fruite of the Orchard may be equally divided between my Wife, MARY, & my Son, MOSES. And as for the rest of my Estate, Cattle, horses, sheep, hoggs and all other my moveable Estate of goods to be equally divided between my Wife, MARY, & my Son, MOSES, except my Corn & provision Crop of tobacco that is now in County dues to be paid out of it. and my Wife, MARY, to have the rest for her own use. I likewise desire that my Wife, MARY, have liberty of half the Hatters Tools dureing her life time and afterwards to fall to my Son, MOSES, and if my Son, MOSES, dies without issue lawfully begotten then the land to fall to JAMES HAMILTON, JUNR. I leave my loving Wife, MARY HOPWOOD. & MOSES HOPWOOD, full & lawful Exrs. I leave my Boat to be sold at an Outcry. I give to my Son in Law, JNO BORRER, the loom & weavers tools and unto HENRY BORRER I give a Gun I likewise desire my Exrs, to pay my debts out of my Estate. The Last Will & Testament of RICHARD HOPWOOD. deced., was presented into Court by MARY. his Relict, & MOSES his Son, his Exrs who made Oath thereto, And being proved by the oaths of all the witnesses thereto, is admitted to Record: And upon the mocon of the sd, Exrs. and their performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted them for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form
