      IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen. I JOHN MILLS of the County of Fairfax and State of Virginia being sick and weak inbody but blest with the proper exercise of my reason, do hereby make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.
      As to what worldly goods the Lord has endwd. me with, I give and bequeath in the following manner;
      1st. 1 direct my Extrs, hereafter named to sell my Negro woman Milly and out of the money arising from the sale to pay THOMAS WEST (upon his making a suficient title) the balance I owe him for the land I purchasd, of him, whereon I now live,
      2nd, which said Land I give the uce of to my loving Wife, ANN MILLS, during her natural life or widowhood together with the following Negroes, Viz., Tom, Winney, Daniel & Hannah, my will and desire is also that she have the use of the whole of the remainder and residue of my Estate upon the same terms that she is to hold and enjoy the land except one young Sorrel Horse which WILLIAM FRAZER is to have at the valuation of two indifferent men to satisfy a debt I owe him amounting to L. 13...11...10 1/2. and in case the Horse should be valued to more than discharges the debt, the overplus to be paid my Extrs, hereafter named;
      3d. The express reson of my giving the uce of the whole of my Estate real and personal to my Wife is to enable her to raise and educate my Children which is Six in number; 4th. My will and desire is that my four Sons, IGNATIOUS MILLS, WILLIAM MILLS, JOHN MILLS and ALEXANDER MILLS when they arive to Fifteen years of age be bound to trades at the discretion of my Extrs.,
      5th. My will and desire is that if my Wife, ANN MILLS, lives and dies without marrying again, the whole of my Estate at her death be equally divided between my six Children, IGNATIOUS MILLS, WILLIAM MILLS, JOHN MILLS, ALEXANDER MILLS, MARY MILLS and PENELOPE MILLS, to them and their heirs forever;
      6th. But in case my loving Wife, ANN MILLS, should marry after my disceas she is to have and enjoy a Childs part of my Estate and the Remainder my Extrs. is to improve in the best manner they can for the benefit of my Children before mentioned and pay them their equal dividents when the boys arive at the age of Twenty one years and the girls to the age of Eighteen or mariage;
      7th. My will and desire is that in case any of my Children before mentioned die before they get the possession of their dividents of my Estate, that then and in that case their divident be equally divided among the surviving Children;
      8th. I hereby constitute and appoint my loving Wife, ANN MILLS, Executrix, and my friends, GEORGE SUMMERS and JOHN MOSS, Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 13th day of January 1797

      This Last Will and Testament of JOHN MILLS deceased was presented in Court by ANN MILLS and GEORGE SUMMERS, Executrix and Executor therein named, who made oath thereto, and the same being proved by theoath of JOHN MOSS, GEORGE SUMMERS and ROBERT MOSS is admitted to Record; And the said Executors having performed what the Laws require, a Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form

      Will of ALEXANDER MILLS.
      I ALEXANDER MILLS of County of Fairfax .. give to my son, GEORGE MILLS, all my wearing Cloaths except one Sagathy Coat, also one brindle cow & four dollars Cash. I give to my youngest daughter, REBECCA MILLS, 990 pounds of crop tobacco & Cash towards maintaining her or for them to receive the said Tobacco who has the child, REBECCA, after my will is in force .. I give to my youngest son, ALEXANDER MILLS, my land whereon I now live containing 123 acres .. if he dies without heirs .. land should fall to my son, JOHN MILLS .. furthermore it is my desire said land be for use & service of all my children, Vizt. ANN MILLS, JNO. MILLS, MARY MILLS, ELIZABETH MILLS & REBECCA MILLS .. my desire that my five children have two years schooling a piece out of my Estate. All the rest of my Estate to be Equally divided among my six children (ALEXANDER MILLS listed with others named above) .. appoint my son in law, THOMAS PERKINS & my Eldest daughter, ANN MILLS, to be my Executors .. this 27th day of June 1767.

      At a court held .. 16th November 1767 .. will presented by THOMAS PERKINS & ANN MILLS .. proved by oaths of JOSEPH JACOBS & MORDECAI JACOBS .. is admitted to record .. certificate is granted (Executors) for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.

      Mar. 17, 1777 - John Mills of Fairfax Co. sells to Rhodam Simpson of Fairfax Co., for 60 Pounds, 193 acres adjacent to lands belonging to Baxter Simpson, Thomas Simpson, Simpson & Tillett and James Roberts. The property was on the south side of Sandy Run, the south side of Turley's Rolling Road, and the south side of Ox Road. The land was part of 235 acres granted to John Robertson in Nov. 1742. On June 17, 1764, Alexander Mills purchased the land from William and Susanna Gardner of Fairfax Co. Alexander Mills' will, dated June 7, 1767, gave the land to his son, also named Alexander Mills. Alexander [Jr.] died and the land was given to Mills' other son John Mills. Recorded: Mar. 17, 1777.
