      Benjamin Davis, Will, October 14, 1816; March 10, 1819
      I, Benjamin Davis of CC, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding;
      To two eldest daughters Mary Cawood Harrison and Elizabeth Thorn Lyon, the property they were given at their marriage, viz; negroes, stock, and furniture, and appraised with my other personal property.
      To four youngest daughters, Sarah T. Davis, Cecelia A. Davis, Jane C. Davis and Lucinda Davis the same amount in negroes, stock and furniture to make equal with my two eldest daughters.

      Dec. 13, 1816 - Deed from Benjamin T. Thorn; William Thorn; Benjamin Davis and Sarah, his wife; Samuel Turner and Elizabeth, his wife; and Catherine Moran of Charles Co. to Robert Davis of Charles County for $448 the land where Absalom Thorn died seized of and where his dwelling house stood called "Byase Den," 96 acres. Later it's spelled "Byrse Den," but the land was "Burches Den." Witnesses: Theodore Mudd, John J. Estep. Mar. 20, 1817: Dorcas Thorn, wife of Benjamin Thorn waived her dower. Recorded 6/10/1817 at the request of Robert Davis.

      Sep. 7, 1789 - Nehemiah Davis of Fairfax Co., Va. planter, is bound to Benjamin Davis of Charles Co.; he warrants that he will make over to him part of "Nehemiah's Desire," 50 acres by next Dec. 25. Witnesees: Philip Davis, Benjamin Davis, Jr. Recorded Mar. 5, 1790. (Charles Co. Deed Book, Liber K#4, Page 5)

      Jan. 9, 1829-Jan. 19, 1829 - The Charles Co., Md. will of Benjamin Davis. (WDM 15, 312) In his will he states that he is 92.

      by the names Sarah, Priscilla, Flosaet, Katharine, Robert, Michael, Charity, Sarah, Abraham, Samuel, Arron, Sabra, James, Birnerd, & Elizabeth. Also, all my moveable estate, whether of money, goods, clothes, household stuff. She is to have sd lands and moveables and their appurtenances during her lifetime, after all my debts are discharged, and then to be equally divided between my children, Hezekiah, Acquila, Melinda,
      Edward, Matthew, Thomas, Attaway, and John (blank] Chunn.

      Probated on Apr 16, 1784 by the oath of Philip Davis, who said that he knows that Aquila Davis, one of the executors, is a resident of Virginia, and that sd Acquilla Davis renounced the acceptance thereof in his presence. Before W.H. Jenifer. Hezekiah Davis, acting executor, made oath on Apr 17, 1784 that the afd will is true and whole. Philip Davis & Benjamin Davis Jr, two of the witnesses, and made oath that they saw the testator declare the afd will to be his.

Peregrine Thorn of Culpeper County, Virginia, planter, to the Revd Hatch Dent of CC, Clerk, for 288 £, part of 2 tracts of land, the one called Burch Den formerly, but by a late resurvey and an addition of vacancy, now called the Den Enlarged, lying in CC, bounded by Burch Den and a tract of land called Morrises Mount, then to Absalom Thorn's part of Burch Den, then to Mary Thorn's part of Burch Den, then to a small lot laid off by Peregrine Thorn out of the Den Enlarged, then to Benjamin Davis, containing about 153 acres. The other tract of land is part of a tract called Egleton, purchased by Peregrine Thorn of James Swann out of the tract called Egleton, and lies contiguous to the tract called the Den Enlarged, bounded by the land formerly in the possession of Peter Urquhart but now possessed by Philip Key, containing and laid out for 12 acres, the contents of both tracts included, being about 165 acres.       I Philip Davis of CC in consideration of 100 pounds current money paid by Benjamin Davis has sold negro Rebecca (37 yrs.), 1 sorrel mare, 5 head black cattle, 16 head of hogs, 2 feather beds and furniture and all my household and kitche furniture, 1 cart, all my plantation utensils.
