      Sturman to Sturman's & Others Indenture
      This indenture tripartite made the 18th day of December 1792 between Hannah Sturman of the Parish of Cople, widow of the first part, Foxall Sturman and William Young Sturman children of Elliott Sturman late son of the said Hannah Sturman, and lately deceased, Hudson Muse of the town of Urbanna in the County of Middlesex, merchant who intermarried with Jemima Sturman a daughter of the said Hannah Sturman, which said Jemima is lately deceased and Thomas Muse, Elliott Muse, Juliet Muse, Letty Muse, Miranda Muse, and Cordelia Muse, children of the said Hudson Muse and Jemima Muse his wife, and William Harwar Parker and Mary Parker his wife and Richard Elliott Parker, Foxall Alexander Parker, John Harwar Parker, and William Chilton Parker, children of the said William Harwar Parker and Mary Parker his wife of the second part and Richard Parker of the Parish of Cople and County of Westmoreland, Esq., of the third part. Whereas Hannah Sturman had on or before the 7th day of December 1787 delivered up to her several children sundry slaves, to wit;
      to Elliott Sturman, Negroes; Hannah, Cupid, Sam, Milly, Harry, Monday
      to Hudson Muse and his wife, Negroes; Lucy, Adam, Marlbrough, Judy, Chloe, Winny
      to William Parker and Mary Parker his wife, Negroes;Moll, Charles, Daniel, Stephen, Eve and Bill
      The whole upon certain conditions, to with; that each lot should be charged with and annuity of 10 pounds each to be paid annually to the said Hannah Sturman for her support during her natural life and an equal proportion of what debts were due from her at the time of the delivery of the said slaves with a right reserved by the said Hannah Sturman to sell any of the delinquents slaves to pay her the annuity aforesaid if unpaid for three months after it became due. And whereas the said Elliott Sturman in his lifetime never paid the annuity charged on his slaves during his life and the same is still due. Now this indenture witness that Hannah Sturman to comply with her part of her intention in settling the slaves aforesaid and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he bears to her child and grandchildren and for the sum of five shillings in hand paid to her by the said Richard Parker hath given and granted by these presents to him the slaves aforesaid, to wit; Hannah, Cupid, Sam, Milly, Harry, Monday, Lucy, Adam, Marlbrough, Judy, Chloe, Winny, Moll, Charles, Daniel, Stephen, Eve and Bill, or such of them as are now living and all the increase of them from the seventh day of December 1787 and all their future increase unto the said Richard Parker for the uses intents and purposes following, to wit; (reserving her right of selling and disposing of any of the slaves)
      Negroes; Hannah, Cupid, Sam, Milly, Harry and Monday and their increase from the 7th day of December 1787 in trust for the use of Foxhall Sturman and William Young Sturman chargeable with the annuities of 10 pounds per annum now due or which may become due during the natural life of the said Hannah Sturman.
      Negroes; Lucy, Adam, Marlbrough, Judy, Chloe and Winny and their increase from the 7th day of December 1787 in trust for the use of of the said Hudson Muse for and during his natural life and after his decease to the use of his children born of his wife Jemima Muse chargeable with the annuities of 10 pounds per annum now due or which may become due during the natural life of the said Hannah Sturman.
      Negroes; Moll, Charles, Daniel, Stephen, Eve and Bill and their increase from the 7th day of December 1787 in trust for the use of William Hawar Parker and Mary Parker his wife for and during their natural lives and after their decease to the use of their children chargeable with the annuities of 10 pounds per annum now due or which may become due during the natural life of the said Hannah Sturman.
      In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year within written.

      At a court held for Westmoreland County the 29th day of January 1793 this deed was proved by the oaths of Charles Muse and Alexander Parker the witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
