      Apr 4, 1745 from William Potts of Dorchester County, Merchant, to Benjamin Fendall of Charles County, Merchant, for 498 £8 shillings and 3 pence, a tract of land in PG, now in the tenure and occupation of Barbara Brooke, widow and relict of Thomas Brooke, late of PG, Esq, decd (excepting and reserving the right of sd Barbara Brooke to the sd tract for her natural life and excepting and reserving unto Negro Jenny, the use and occupation of that part of the afd which she has for some time past cultivated and remains now in possession, and excepting and saving 1/2 acre contiguous to and including the burial place and graveyard or that part of the lands afd called Brookefield) being part of Brookfield, part of Brooke Chance, and part of Addition to Brookefield, bounded by a stone marked TB, the proper land mark of Brookefield where formerly stood the original beginning tree of sd land, bounded by a branch of Mattopany Cr called Howard's branch, the land of John Howard late decd, the SW corner of Matthew Wise's land, Long Bridge Branch, the mouth of a small branch called Jenny's Branch, the land of Walter Brooke decd to the head of a small branch called the Cool Spring Branch, then down the sd branch to the main branch of Mattapany Cr, containing about 806 acres.       Indenture made July 27, 1752; Benjamin Fendall of Charles County, Maryland, gentleman in consideration of £480 of England paid by James Russell of Prince George's County, Maryland merchant, has sold tracts lying in Prince George's County now in occupation of Barbara Brooke widow and relict of Thomas Brooke Esq. deceased excepting and reserving the right of Barbara Brooke to the tracts during her natural life and excepting saving and reserving unto Negro Jenny the use and occupation of that part she has for some time past cultivated and remains now in possession of land and excepting and saving ½ acre of land contiguous for the burial place and graveyard on that part of the lands called "Brookefield", "Brooke Chance" and "Addition to Brookefield" beginning and lying near a branch of Mattapany Creek called Howards Branch, and bounded by the lands of John Howard late deceased, Matthew Wise's land, Long Bridge Branch, Jenny's Branch, land of Walter Brooke, deceased, Cool Spring Branch, main branch of Mattapany Creek and containing 806 acres; also a tract called "Howard Park" lately conveyed by John Howard of Charles County, Maryland, gentleman to William Potts lying near Brooke Creek and binding on "Vineyard"containing 125 acres.       Indenture made April 10, 1759; James Russell of London, merchant and Ann Russell his wife in consideration of 700 pounds sterling of England paid by Benjamin Mackall, Jr., of Calvert County, Maryland, merchant has sold tracts lying in PGCo late in the tenure and occupation of Barbara Brooke, widow and relict of Thomas Brooke late of PGCo, Esqr., deceased, containing 806 acres excepting and saving ½ acre contiguous to and including the burial place and graveyard on part of a tract called "Brookefield" being part of "Brooke Chance" and "Addition to Brookefield" containing acres and bounded by a branch of Mattapony Creek called Howard's Branch, John Howard's land, late deceased, the corner of Matthew Wise's land, Long Bridge Branch, Tenneys Branch, land of Walter Brooke, deceased, Cool Spring Branch and containing 806 acres; also part of "Howard's Park" lately conveyed by John Howard of Charles County, Maryland, gentleman to William Potts containing 125 acres and bounded by Brooke Creek, "Vinyard".
