Westmoreland County Court 26th of February 1707/08
- Washington Parish y BAXTER MARY BAXTER, the Daughter of AMBROSE BAXTER, of Washington Parish in this County being convicted of fornication and haveing a bastard Child in the sd Parish, AMBROSE BAXTER in Court assumed upon himselfin the sume offive hundred pounds of tobacco to pay to the Churchwardens ofthe Parish her Fine offive hundred pounds of tobacco for her fornication,
And also to keep the Parish harmless and indemnified from all trouble and charge growing or ariseing by meanes of the Child

Will of Mary Baxter of Westmoreland County, widdo, being sick of body, dated 5 Oct. 1716.
What estate I have in my hands be set apart that belongs to the orphants of George Alderson.
My cropp of tobacco and corn to my son Thomas Baxter and my daughter Any to be equally divided between them.
My spaid mare and saddle &c and all my cloths to my daughter Any, except a black damask gownd and petticoat to my granddaughter Jane Allderson and a duroy gownd and petticoate to my daughter Mary.
To every one of my children a cow and calf and a heifer to my granddaughter Ann.
The rest of my estate to be equally divided between my sons Abraham, Thomas, and daughter Amy.
My son William the bed he hath of mine.
My sons Abraham, Thomas and daughter Any executors.
My two grandchildren Jane and Mary two years schooling each and three yeares schooling to my granddaughter Margarett when they shall be capable to take it.
