      TO ALL PEOPLE to whom this present writing shall come I JOHN STROTHER and MARY his Wife of County of Culpeper and Parish of Bromfield in Colony of Virginia send greeting. Know ye that for divers good causes and considerations us thereunto moving but more especially for the love good will and Effection which we have and do bare to our Son in Law, JOHN BROWNING &. ELIZABETH his Wife, our Daughter, And for their better and further Support and maintenance in this world for the future, We have given and confirmed and by these presents do freely clearly and absolutely give and confirm unto our Son in Law, JOHN BROWNING and ELIZABETH his Wife, our Daughter, their heirs and assigns one certain piece of land containing Four hundred and seventy one acres more or less situate lying and being in Culpeper County and Bromfield Parish in the Little Fork of RAPPAHANNOCK RIVER lying on both sides of CANNONS RUN and the said land is bounded Begining at a Maple & two white Oaks on CANNONS RUN near the CHURCH ROAD and runs thence North Thirty two degrees East Eighteen poles to three red Oaks in PAYTONs Line, thence with his line North Fifty eight degrees East sixty six poles to three small white Oaks in LAWLERs Line, thence with his line South Thirty degrees East One hundred and ten poles to a white Oak and a red Oak, thence North seventy five degrees East One hundred and twenty six poles to three white Oaks, thence South twenty five degrees West Two hundred thirty poles to a Pine and white Oak on SHAGING HILL thence South sixty three degrees West Two hundred and two pole to CANNONs Line in a Chery Orchard in an old field near CANNONs House, thence with his line North seventy five degrees West seventy eight pole to Two white Oaks and a red Oak on a Ridge then North One hundred and fifty two pole to five white Oaks then North forty degrees East sixteen poles to a Pine in the head of a Drean then down the same North twenty two degrees East sixty six pole to a long Branch then down the same South forty degrees East sixty poles to CANNONS RUN then up the several Courses of said Run to the first Beginning With all houses orchards and profits to the same belonging To have and to hold the aforesaid track of land and premises unto JOHN BROWNING and ELIZABETH his Wife their heirs and assigns In Witness whereof JOHN STROTHER and MARY his Wife have hereto set their hands and fiat their seals this twenty second day of September
