      John Harrison's Will
      In the name of God, Amen, I John Harrison of the County of Westmoreland being sick of body but of sound and perfect memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following this fourth day of April 1769.
      Imprimis, I give and bequeath to the heirs of my son George Harrison one shilling sterling is therefore part of my estate not yet received.
      Item I give all my lands to my son John Harrison and the heirs of his body forever; and for want of such heirs my will is that my daughter Abigail Harrison shall have the above said lands vested in her and her heirs; and in case they both should depart this life without heirs that the land should descend to my son Robert Harrison and his heirs.
      Further my will is that my daughter Abigail Harrison shall and may live on my land with my son John Harrison or on any part of my land as long as she live single and if he is willing that she may live in the house with him then she is to have no more the land that is useful to support her.
      Item I give to my son John Harrison two feather beds and furniture, and a large cherry tree table.
      Item I give to my daughter Abigail Harrison the bed and furniture I commonly lie on, a cupboard, and a young cow and calf.
      Item I give to my grandson Robin? Harper one years schooling provided his father or any other friend will accommodate him for the year while at school.
      Item I give the residue of my estate after my lawful debts and legacies are paid to be equally divided between all my children and their lawful appears, the heirs of my son George Harrison excepted, and I do make and ordain my son John Harrison, my whole sole and entire executor of this my last will and testament made by me.

      At a court held for Westmoreland County the 25th day of August 1772 this will was proved according to law by the oaths of Richard Lee and Reuben Jordan witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded; and on the motion of John Harrison the executor therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with Samuel Walker his security entered into and acknowledged bond with conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.       THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty fifth day of March in the twentieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c., And in the year of our Lord 1747; Between JOHN SMITH of Parish of Fredireck in County of FREADERICK of one part and GEORGE HARRISON of Parish of Cople in County of Westmorland of other part; Witnesseth that JOHN SMITH in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by GEORGE (alis) WILLIAM PORTER of whom the said GEORGE HARRISON is assignee, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto GEORGE HARRISON all that parcel of land lying in Parish of Cople in County of Westmorland, it being by imputation Thirty acres be it more or less. bounded; Begining at a red Oak in or near the line of Mr. CLAY, runing West sixty poles to a white Oak by a Swamp in a line of said CLAY, thence South 24 degs. West eight pole to a Dogwood in the line of Mr. ROBERT MIDDLETON, now BROW and GARNERS line, thence South 41 1/2 degrees East twenty pole to a Spanish Oak in the line of said MIDDLETON and HARRISON, thence South 61 degs. East forty poles to a red Oak in the line of GEORGE HARRISON, thence runing a strate line to the said begining tree; the parcel of land being part of a tract of One hundred and sixty one acres granted to one WILLIAM HAMMOCK the 28th day of June in the year 1697 as by a Patent out of the Proprietors Office doth appear; To have and to hold the Thirty acres of land more or less the premises with appurtenances unto GEORGE HARRISON his heirs to he holden to the Chief Lord or Lords of the Fee or Fees of the premises by the rents and services for the same due and of right accustomed to be paid free and clear from all incumbrances. In Witness whereof the party first within named hath interchangeably set his hand and seal the day and year first above mentioned of us

      Memorandum: That on this being the 25th day of March 1747. peaceable and quiet possession and seizen of the within granted land and premises was given and delivered to GEORGE HARRISON by delivery of Turf and Twigg on the land; To have and to hold the same according to the true intent of the within written Deed in the presence of

At a Court held for the said County the 31st day of March 1747 This Deed of Feofment for lands passed by JOHN SMITH to GEORGE HARRISON together with livery of seizen thereon endorsed was presented into Court by said HARRISON and proved by the Oaths of RICHARD HEADEN. GEORGE HEADEN, JEREMIAH HARRISON and ROBERT MIDDLETON, witnesses thereto and on motion of the said GEORGE HARRISON the same is admitted to Record Test GEORGE LEE. C. C. W.

      Harrison to Harrison
      This indenture made the 18th day of February 1756 between Samuel Harrison of the Parish of Cople in the County of Westmoreland of the one part and George Harrison of the Parish of St. Stephen’s in the County of Northumberland of the other part. Witnessed that the said Samuel Harrison in consideration of 700 pounds of tobacco in hand paid by the said George Harrison has sold all that tract or parcel or dividend of land situate in the parish of Cople in the County of Westmoreland it being about 20 acres more or less bounded as followeth. Viz., beginning at a marked hickory the north corner tree believed the said George Harrison and the lands of Headley running South to a gully thence down the said gully the head of a branch then down the said branch water and water course to a line of the said Samuel Harrison and Brown thence along said line North to the land of Hammock now in the possession of the said George Harrison the said land being part of a tract of land patent by George Harrison as by patent [no date]. In witness whereof the parties first within named as interchangeably set his hand and seal the day and year above mentioned. Signed Samuel Harrison
