I William Travers of rappa County Gent, being weake and sick of body but of perfect sence Judgmt & memory Almight God be praised do make and appoint this to be my Last Will & Testament, revokeing all other former Wills whatsoever in manner & forme following: vizt
      Imprs I bequeath my soule to Almight God that gave it trusting that through the merits of his son and my deare Saviour Jesus Christ he will be pleased gratiously to receive it into his King dom there to live with him evermore and I committ my body to the ground to be decently buried.
      It I give and bequeath unto my dear Mother, Rebecca Rice, five thousand pounds of tobacco, during her natural life to be left in the hands of my brother Samuel Travers, to be at her disposall when she shall be pleased to call for it & after her death to return to my said brother: Samll Travers, & Rawleigh Travers theri heires executrs.
      It I bequeath unto my father in law John Rice, my riding horse with furniture.
      It I give to Katherine Reyley five hundred pounds of tobb: in caske
      It I give and bequeath unto Samll Robinson, son of Elias Robinson, one heifer whh is at the house of John Ballin with all her increase & if the said Samll shall die before he arrives to theage of twenty ethat then it shall return to the said Elias Robinson father of the said Samll.
      It I give and bequeath all the rest of my estate unto my two loveing brother Samll & Rawligh Travers, theri heires executrs Adminstrs forever equally to be divided between them.
      My will is that if my Father in law, Mr John Rice, pay fifteen thousand pounds of tobb. as part of my estate unto my said loveing brothers their heirs or order on the 10th day of March which will be in the year of our Lord 1687/8 that then he shall have the liberty to pay the remaying part from thence until the tenth day of October wch will be in the year of our Lord God 1689.
      It i do constitute and appoint my two loveing Brothers Samll & Rawleigh Travers my lawfull executrs of this my last Will and Testament. In witness where of I have hereunto sett my hand and fixed my seale the 14 day of February 1686/7

      - Upon the Petition of ELIZABETH TRAVERS, one of the Daughters and Surviving Executrix. of the Last Will and Testament of SAMLL. TRAVERS, late of this County, Gent., deceased, setting forth that the said SAMLL. TRAVERS did by his Last Will and Testament in writing duely proved in this Court (inter alia) nominate constitute ordaine and appoint his then Wife, the aforesaid ELIZABETH, and his Brother, RAWLEIGH, Exrs. thereof, and that soone after the death of the said SAMLL. the aforesaid Testator's aforesd. Wife departed this life, and the aforesd ELIZABETH being then a Minor and not capable to performe the Office of Exrx., the aforesd. RAWLEIGH entered into the execution thereof and thereby became possest of all and singular the Estate of the said SAMLL., and sometime after the said RAWLEIGH being so possest made his Last Will and Testament & appointed Capt. THOMAS BEALE and Mr. JOHN TAVERNER, Executrs. thereof, and dyed, wch: said Executrs. proved said Will and accepted the Executorship & by virtue thereof possest themselves of all and singular the goods and chattles rights and creditts of Wares & Merchandize of the said SAMUELL, deceased, and that they the sd. Exrs. the Estate of the aforesd. SAMLL. or any part thereof to the aforesd. ELIZABETH who is onely surviving Exrx. of the Last Will and Testament of the aforesaid SAMUELL, deced., ever have and still do refuse and deny praying that the said Capt. THOMAS BEALE and Mr. JOHN TAVERNER, Exrs. as aforesd. might be summoned to shew cause if any they could why they rendered not to the said ELIZABETH the Estate as aforesd. the Estate of the aforesd.       Legacies to daughter-in-law Elizabeth Tarpley, son-in-law Richard Nutt and to Farneffold Nutt his son, Coz. Rawleigh Travers his wife, to Rebecca Travers my wife's picture and a small cabinet of drawers. "To each church in this parish a chalice of silver for a communion service £5 each or thereabouts with the inscription on them Ex dono Johannis Farneffold, and my exors. shall finde two gravestones about a yd. long for myself & wife Mary. On her gravestone this inscription: here lyes the body of Mary Farneffold the wife of John Farneffold the daughter of George Brookes. mercht. in London, & on the other this inscription here lies the body of John Farneffold, minister, the son of Sir Thomas Farneffold of Gatewickes in Stayning County of Sussex Knight. I give 100 acres where I now live for the maintenance of a free school and to be called Winchester schoole for fower or five poore children belonging to ye parish and to be taught gratis & to have their dyett lodging & washing & when they can read the Bible & write a legible hand to dismiss them & take in more, such as my exors. shall think fitt, and for the benefitt of the said school I give five cows and a Bull, six ewes, and a ram, a carthorse & cart and two breeding sowes. & that my two mulatto girles Frances and Lucy Murrey have a yeares schooling & be free when they arrive at the age of 22 years to whom I give a sow shoat to each, & for further encouragement of a schoolmaster, I give dyett. lodging & washing & 500 pds of tobacco & a horse. Bridle & Saddle to ride on during his stay, the place where the school house is to be directed my will is to have it neare my dwelling house, some part of which may serve for a school house till another may more conveniently be built. Item what schoole books I have in my study I leave for y* benefitt of y* schoole. Then my will is that some of my estate be sold for the maintenance of the said schoole except what my exors shall think fitt to select necessary for use as bedding, potts, & pewter.
