John ARNOLD ? b. 1708 Richmond Co., VA; d. January 1798 Newberry Co., SC. Married Letitia UNKNOWN. Sold 50 of land given to him by his father to William Settle in Hamilton Parish, Fauquier Co., VA and moved to Newberry Co., South Carolina after the Rev. War. Died about 1798 Newberry Co., SC. Will of John Arnold was signed January 12, 1798; probated May 21, 1798; and recorded June 30, 1798 in Newberry County Court House. (src. LWT JOHN ARNOLD PACKAGE 2, FILE 1). John?? wife, Letitia, died in Newberry Co., SC shortly before May 1, 1815 because her part of John Arnold?? estate was sold on that day. An appraisal was made May 4, 1815 and was recorded April 16, 1817. The sale of her goods was sold at the home of Margaret Dunkin on May 20, 1815 and netted $91.89.
