At a Court 24 June 1668 Susanna Brookes obtained administration on the estate of her dec'd husband Thomas Brookes and was to return inventory, but did not, and court is informed that a great part of state is disposed of, imbezzeled and wasted, whereby the orphans of the dec'd are likely to suffer. It is ordered that the sheriff take what estate he can find of the dec'd Brookes and of Job Vergett, who married the relict, for security of orphens' dues, and that he summon Vergett and Susanna his to court to answer.

Mrs. Susanna Vergett, relict of Mr. Job Vergett, dec'd, and relict Mr. Thomas Brooks, dec'd, this day exhibited to the court an inventory of both dec'd's estates, alledging she is removing out the county, and Charles Gretham, being willing to look after the estate, until the court's further orders, it is ordered that he serve until the court's further pleasure.
