Thomas Dodson, Jr. (Thomas3, Charles2, Jesse1) was born Abt. October 1707 in Richmond Co or Rappahannock County, Virginia, and died 21 October 1783 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He married (1) Ellenor Sloan. He married (2) ELIZABETH ROSE 03 April 1724 in Richmond County, Virginia, daughter of JOHN ROSE and MARY (Widow). She was born Abt. 1706 in Richmond Co, Virginia.

In Name of God Amen I CHARLES WALLER County Stafford Gent make this my Last Will & Testament Imprimis I give to my loving Son JOHN WALLER (after the death of his Mother) the land whereon I now live on Acquia Creek on condition that he pay each of his surviving Sisters the sum of Twenty pounds current money as they severally come to age. Item I give unto my loving Son CHARLES WALLER Tract I bought of THOMAS HOOPER at Brent Town under the following limitations & provisions vizt that my son John shall have the use of one moiety of the said land until the death of his Mother & that upon her death John becoming possessed of the land on Acquia he shall give up the whole to my son Charles Charles paying unto John 88 pounds current money which is 1/2 price I gave for it and that Charles pay unto each of his surviving Sisters the sum of Twenty pounds current money as they come of age. But as my wife ELIZABETH is at present privily Ensient if the child of which she shall he delivered should be a boy my will is that John should only have the use of half my land at Brent Town until death of his Mother that he becomes possessed of my land at Acquia & then I give to the child with which my Wife is privily Ensient if a Boy, but if it should be a girl only to have an Equal share with the rest of my Daughters-
Item I give to my Brother EDWARD WALLER 202½ acres being part of my tract at Brent Town according to a dividing line made between him & me he having joind with me in the purchase and for which Quantity I intended to have made him Deeds had it pleas'd God to spare me.
Item I give unto my Sister HANNAH WEBB of Essex County 700 pounds of Tobacco in the hands of THOMAS DOBSON of the same county due to me for rent.. Item all the goods in the Store belonging to Capt. ROGER LYNDON he pack'd up & kept until he comes in to receive them and what goods of my own I have in the store along with his I desire may be sold to the highest bidder or Bartered away for coarse goods for the use of my Family at the discretion of my Executors. As also what goods I bought of Messrs. ROSSE and RAE & BURGESS & put in the Store along with the said Lyndons goods for the better assorting of them may upon a Settlement with him be deducted out of his part .. put with the rest of my Estate to use of my family. Item I desire my Executors as soon as possible sell my 5 & 20 hogshead Flatt for the benefit of my Estate. Item that my Sawyers be kept at their business for benefit of the Estate. Item all rest I give to be equally divided among my children MARY, SUKEY, JOHN, CHARLES & MILLY WALLER & the child my Wife is now Ensient, that the Division come as they Severally come of age, if any die, share he dually divided.
Item I give to my loving Wife ELIZA. WALLER the use of my house whereon I live on Acquia during her natural life only & a child's part of my personal Estate. Item my Estate be kept together for use maintenance of my wife & children. Lastly I appoint my loving wife Elizabeth, my Brother EDWARD WALLER and my good friend Majr. PETER HEDGMAN, Messrs. JOHN PEYTON, GEORGE WALLER & JOHN MAUZY Executors of & Guardians to my Children 2 Dec 1749.

This indenture made 13th January and Last day January 1726 between JEREMIAH GREENHAM of County Richmond and Parish of North farnam sawyer of one part and THOMAS DODSON b GREENAM DODSON Planters of the above said county Witnesseth Jeremiah Greenham in consideration sum ten shillings of good is lawfull money of great Britain by deeds of lease release hath granted all that tract of land between the Branches of Potomack and Accakeek runs in the Parish Overwharton containing 316 acres being the Moyety of 632 acres of land granted in Joynt Tenancy to one THOMAS LEECHMAN and one WILLIAM WILLIAMS and the said 316 acres was also made over by less & reless dated 9th July 1714 unto Jeremiah Greenham the aforesaid 632 acres granted to Leachman & Williams was by a deed from the Proprietors office dated 21st July 1710 and the aforementioned 316 acres is bounded ... beginning at a corner marked red oak standing by the Path that leads from the head of Accakeek run to Capt. MOUNTJOYS Mill being one of the corner trees mentioned in the said Deed .. to corner marked gum tree standing by the said Path .. to corner marked Pine standing in the line of land survey'd for JAMES HARVEY thence along Harvey's line .. thence East to the stony lick branch to corner marked black oak standing in the said bank being marked for a Dividing tree between Leechman and Williams by Mr. GEORGE CROSBY SENR. & Mr. JOHN ADDAMS persons well acquainted with the said land Indifferently chosen by the said Leechman and Williams to make a division between them in manner may appear by an agreement Division in writeing duly executed dated 13th June last past ..

WM: ROUT and ANN his Wife do warrant unto said THOMAS DODSON his heirs for the terme of Twenty one years together with all hereditaments and appurtenances belonging; To have and to hold the Fifty acres of land and premises unto THOMAS DODSON, JUNR. his heirs to be holden to the Cheif Lord or Lords of the Fee or Fees of the premises for the rents and services due and accustomed to be paid and WM. MATHEWS, thence along MATHEWS's line to another red Oak corner tree standing by the line of said MATHEWS, thence along a line new marked trees in the land of THOMAS DUSENs its several courses till it comes to another corner Hickory tree, thence along the new line its several courses till it comes to a small black Oak corner tree standing in said DUSINs line, thence along ye sd. line till wee come to a line that divides the land formerly belonging to JOHN HENLY & the abovesaid DUSIN, soe along said line to our first begining; we the said ABRAHAM DALE.
