      THIS INDENTURE made this Twenty six and Twenty seven day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & forty Eight Between THOMAS MITCHELL and SUSANNAH his Wife of the Parish of Hamilton in the County of Prince William of one part& BUSHRODE DOGGETT of the same Parish and County of the other part Witnesseth that said THOMAS MITCHELL & SUSANNAH his Wife for the sum of Twenty Two pounds Ten shillings Current money have sold unto the said BUSHRODE DOGGETT in his actual possession now being by virtue of a bargain & sale for one whole year & by force of the statute for transferring uses into possession & to him & his heirs forever all that parcell of land in the Parish & County afd. containing One hundred & fifty two acres being part of a PATENT formerly granted to THOMAS WELCH the 22 day of November in the year one thousand seven hundred & forty & bounded beginning at a Double red Oak saplin & a white Oak saplin in the last mentioned in the PATENT & being a corner to JOHN ARNOLDs Three hundred acres thence N. Wt. to a red Oak saplin in the third line of the PATENT, thence with the said line N. W. to two Corner Pines of the said PATENT thence N. E. along the line of the said PATENT to a double Chesnut Oak saplin thence S. E, to a Hiccory saplin standing in the last line of the PATENT as aforesaid thence along the said line So. E to the Beginning Together with all houses & appurtenances whatsoever belonging To Have and To Hold unto the said BUSHRODE DOGGETT his heirs & assigns forever.
