I GEORGE BROWN of Hanover Parish King George County Planter am bound unto NEWMAN BROWN of same Planter .. in sum One hundred pounds current money of Virginia .. 6th May 1748. Condition .. Whereas MAXFIELD BROWN Deced Father of Newman & George Brown did by Deed of Gift dated 4th March 1736/7 bequeath a certain tract unto Newman & George containing 300 acres .. one moiety thereof to descend to Newman, the other to George which said land (since the Decease of sd Maxfield) been divided between (them) by mutual consent of both partys by a Line of marked trees in the presence of WILLIAM MARSHALL SENR., ROBERT JOHNSON SENR., DANIEL WHITE & JOSEPH DODD & the said George & Newman hereby acknowledge .. themselves fully satisfied ..
